Fullsac baffles and X pipe.
« on: March 20, 2010, 08:16:29 PM »

Ive gotten such good information and feedback to questions in this forum, I just wanted to add my $.02 about Fullsac.  I put the 1.75" baffles and X pipe on my '09 SERG.  I was looking for a little deeper tone and wanted to get rid of the cat in the stock headpipe.
I'm very happy with the result.  The installation went smoothly and with a little help from Mr. Wizard and TTS the tune went well.  The fitment on the X pipe was good and Steve @ Fullsac was helpful and conscientious.  The sound is quiet enough for long rides but when you crack the throttle, you know you're riding a Harley and not a Gold Wing.
I still have the stock baffles and headpipe in case the decibel Nazis come calling.

FL54............I'm glad to hear your happy with the x-pipe and 1.75" baffle combo.  Do you have any pictures with the x-pipe installed and the chrome exhaust shields on ?  I'm curious how the x-pipe looks with the chrome shields on. :worthless:

Thanks..ez rider

You can't really see the X pipe unless you are really looking to see it.  The shields cover pretty well.  I've got to run out right now.  I'll try to get some pics posted later today.

FL54 is correct, got to look close to see that it isn't the stock pipe.

One caution.. when tightening up the band clamps on the X shield, be careful how tight you pull the front clamp or you will indent the shield. It's not due to the X pipe, the shield is just cheap and the band retainer was spot welded to the flat part of the shield. You can tighten the back one like normal.

What you see in the picture below is the fullsac X pipe with the stock shields.

Another caution on the X pipe.  I noticed a vibration in the right footboard and found that the X pipe was contacting the clevis on the rear brake.  I used a flat screwdriver to bend it away a 1/16 inch and problem solved.  I apologize for quality of the pictures but you can see that the only place where the X pipe is even visible is at the top of the front cylinder shield and just in front of the rear muffler.  My stock headpipe had very low miles on it and it was already turning blue so blue, black what's the difference.

FL.........thanks for the picture.  I need to buy a catless head pipe and get it installed before the real riding season begins up here. Glad to hear your happy with the Fullsac x-pipe.  I've never seen one up close except for the pictures without the chrome shields. You've got me leaning heavy to Fullsac !!...thanks..

No Worries Easy Rider.  The beauty of the Fullsac combo is that unless you look really close, the end result looks totally stock.

FL.........You've convinced me on the x-pipe!  I can't find the x-pipe on Fullsac's website though. >:(I wish I could utilize Fullsac's baffles.  When I bought my bike, it came with Screaming Eagle Street Performance  4" slip-ons.  Fullsac doesn't make a baffle for the 4" slip-on pipe.  I'm leaning towards putting on Vance & Hines Hi-Output slip ons.

If you go to the  earlier thread "slip ons or fullsac" near the bottom GregKHougaz posted a link that had pictures of the X pipe.
Also lv2ride56 has  a pair of SE cans with 1.75" baffles for sale.  You might send him a PM.
Good luck

Steve told me that he had several sets of touring cans for his baffles if you change your mind.
