Background.. 2006 "Watermelon"
1st motor lasted around 23K, shelled it with a bad cam bearing..
2nd motor cratered around 50K, shelled it with a bad cam bearing..
3rd motor, when it went in, I replaced to cam bearing with a torrington and changed to the S&S 570g cam & gear drive, with the newer oil pump. Great power in the midrange although sometimes hard to start.
Now after 36K miles,(86K total) I noticed a "chirping" sound coming from the cam location. My independent tech disassembled everything.
1. The run-out on the crank which started at .002, has now grown to .012 or above. Getting that trued, balanced, & welded.
2. Two lifters are shot and need replaced.
3. Cams are "scored" from the bad lifters and looks like I need to replace them also.
So.. once again I'm rebuilding this motor. Problem is, my tech is trying to make me believe that the 570g caused the top end issues and that the lift is too much for the SE 103" for reliability..
My question is.. reliability issues. I want to make this bike reliable and still enjoy the low to midrange power. I usually don't use top end speed but definitely do use to low & midrange ..
With the crank being corrected, what is the recommended cam & "other" parts to make this engine last?

Sorry for the long post, and tank you for all replies!
