I'm jealous I won't be making it with you.  Sounds like a really great time.

Best burger & frys in Kingman is Mr.D's on rt66. My vote for Amarillo is The Big Texan. We try & hit it at meal time on our way to Vegas & back.Good chance I'll see you at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo. When you get your route pinned down we can figure a time & place to meet & I'll ride to Buffalo with you.

We got back from Sturgis a couple of days ago and now I'm working on the details of this trip. We will leaving Salem,MA early am and should be in Buffalo late afternoon on the 8th. What's the Anchor Bar like on a Friday night around 7ish ?  Doc

Looks like the biggest part of the trip will be along NY 33 for 256 miles coming from MA. Looking forward to hooking up with you.  Doc

Doc,
BAKRDS was killed in a motorcycle accident within days of making that post. I'm afraid he won't be joining you.

The Anchor Bar is always busy but it goes pretty quick. I wouldn't expect you'd wait longer than 30 minutes. I'm only 15-20 miles away from there. Are you staying in the Buffalo area for the night?

If going across NY on state roads I'd recommend 20 over 33. They pretty much run parallel to each other. Rt 20 goes all the way from Boston, MA to Portland, OR. Its very scenic through the Finger Lakes area.

I just watched another episode of "Man v. Food"  :o and now realize I don't think I'll be able to match Adam's appetite...no way. So I decided to rededicate our coast to coast trip to just looking for good food and meeting up with as many of you as possible along the way especially in Maggie Valley. I'm still buyin the first round.  :2vrolijk_09:  Doc

When you are on I-40 in the Texas panhandle,  try the only cafe in Vega, TX--small sign but lots of cars--awesome!

We rode all 6 streets of the town trying to find it and had almost given up--didn't see the sign and it was just a small building on a side street just off Route 66--had some great food (maybe we were just starving!?)

Thanks for the recommendation. We will be staying at The Clipper Ship Inn on the 6th and 7th in Salem. All Terry wants to do is eat fried clams for two days and we will be within walking distance to some of her favorite restaurants...she is from there. We just realized the 7th is our anniversary so this should be a great two day layover.  :P    Doc
