Sorry if I missed this in an earlier post, but while into the dealership on Saturday looking at the new Ultra Road Glide 96", I had that discussion with my salesman.

On non Limited or CVO touring bikes, you can order the Power Pak option that sells for $1,995.00 and that includes a 103" motor, ABS and the remote sercurity system.

This 103" is NOT a CVO motor, but the stock 103" that is used in the Limited, the Trike and the Police bikes.

I'm not sure if the Power Pak option is worth the $2k or not, but that's what you get for the $$$$'s.

They can't offer the 103 power pak option on the Ultra or they would hurt sells on the Limited.

Two tone Ultra 21,999               Limited 23,699
power pak        1,995
Total              23,994

Vivid Black       22,994   deduct $1000 for vivid black

on the European market H-D doesn't offer the Ultra at all this year. I suppose they want to get rid of some overstocked Limiteds before discontinuing this model. Doesn't make sense anymore.

Our dealer got just one black/blue Limited early last year - it's the only bike not sold until now btw. Will get a paint job this winter if they don't get it off the floor till then ...

It makes sense in that nobody is going to buy a 96" Ultra when the Limited is a 103".  The Limited is a great touring bike, by the way - hired one for my vacation, and did 4073 trouble free miles (6555km) in two weeks. I'd be happy with one.  (Oh, and the heated grips on them are 100000000 times better than the crap on our CVOs).

I'm not putting the Limited down! I think they are a good package. How often do you think the dealers will have a customer point at a bike and say "I want that exact bike but with the 103 motor". HD should have made the move to the 103 motor for their scooters. Going to have a lot of 96's sitting around. JMO.

I've had both the 96 and the new 103. IMHO, there's not much difference between the two power-wise.
What you are buying is the "bling" kinda a poor man's CVO
The Limited is a nice bike, suits my needs and I'll keep it for awhile.

I cannot speak for the difference between a factory 96 and factory 103, however, I have upgraded two 96 ci to 103's and the power difference (with a tuner) is night and day.

10% more torque at 3500.  So you get 10 lb/ft with a 96 and 11 lb/ft with a 103! :huepfenjump3:  Ethyl, you'd better hang on with dis here new motor!

Say what you want, but I stand by what I said. Print outs are not everything. Drive-a-bility is where its at.

+1... a good tune is about more than numbers. Quality of power is more important on the road the quantity of power.

I was in Sturgis today and got some shots of the new models. The brown SERG was amazing in person and stole the show.
