I think you might find that most of those catalogs you've received over the years were sponsored by a dealership, and were not something the MoCo sent directly to you just because they like you.  And with the downturn in the economy and the big downturn in motorcycle sales, lot's of dealers obviously have made the decision to eliminate that cost.  And yes, dealers have to pay for promotional items and brochures, the MoCo doesn't hand out diddly for free.  Some mailings were also made to HOG members, there again not for free if you consider the $45 a year to be a member.  If you used to be a HOG member and then quit, those mailings would also stop.

With the internet becoming such a popular way to shop, more and more companies are cutting way back or even eliminating paper catalogs.  Unfortunately, the Harley site isn't the most user friendly so it is often quicker and easier to find what you want in the old fashioned catalog, even if you aren't in the "library".  Maybe they could consider hiring a real online catalog expert to.....................never mind, totally dumb idea.  Should never mix the "MoCo" and "fix" thoughts together in the same sentence, they tend to be incompatible.

It is not the MOCO it is your dealer. They decide who gets one and who doesn't. Yes the MOCO does charge the dealer for each and every copy, so does Kuryakan.

Most of the stuff I put on my bike comes from other manufacturers anyway, so I don't miss the catalogue.

The internet has become the way to shop, outnumbering the hard copies of catalogs for most merchandisers.

However, the MoCo hasn't really stepped into that arena yet.  There web site has a lousey search engine (try typing in the name of the item that you're looking for..........or, it's part number.  No cross reference in the search engine).  And, we all know they don't provide internet (or live) customer service......no email address or "contact us" when we have questions about a particular part.

In this regard, I think the MoCo has placed a self induced strangle hold on increased sales. :nixweiss:
