I think you might find that most of those catalogs you've received over the years were sponsored by a dealership, and were not something the MoCo sent directly to you just because they like you. And with the downturn in the economy and the big downturn in motorcycle sales, lot's of dealers obviously have made the decision to eliminate that cost. And yes, dealers have to pay for promotional items and brochures, the MoCo doesn't hand out diddly for free. Some mailings were also made to HOG members, there again not for free if you consider the $45 a year to be a member. If you used to be a HOG member and then quit, those mailings would also stop.
With the internet becoming such a popular way to shop, more and more companies are cutting way back or even eliminating paper catalogs. Unfortunately, the Harley site isn't the most user friendly so it is often quicker and easier to find what you want in the old fashioned catalog, even if you aren't in the "library". Maybe they could consider hiring a real online catalog expert to.....................never mind, totally dumb idea. Should never mix the "MoCo" and "fix" thoughts together in the same sentence, they tend to be incompatible.
