I am looking at the 79556 & 75324. Does the 75324 give any better passenger lumbar support?  Even if I install the parts to make my tourpak removable I don't think I want a two piece system.  Will look closely at the differences.

Not sure about the lumber on the 75324 wrap around. But the 79556 will set you back further than mine so watch out. Make sure you have plenty of handlebar set back or you'll be reaching pretty far.

I understand the idea of getting more leg room and moving away from the gas tank. But they don't seem concerned about arm reach. That's a critical point to me. If I reach, I get upper back pain. Can't have that.

I have to give credit where credit is due. I called Mustang and kindly discussed my complaints. Their customer service Rep. Kathy was completely agreeable and supported my decision to return the gear. Her attitude and support was so kind that it makes me respect the company and perhaps try another seat someday from them. Myrtle Beach bike rally is this week. I'm only about an hour and a half from there. I'm going dow this weekend to check for seat tents or perhaps just find other riders with seats I can sit on. I'll post some info on that later. Maybe Mustang will be there and I can discuss with them in person my complaints.

Customer service at Mustang appears to be quite good. If you have any issues talk to Kathy. She's experienced and fully understands the impact customer service has on the reputation of a company.

I told her I would be writing this comment about her and Mustang.

Sounds to me like I should (not) get too excited about the Mustang seat as an alternative.

Rick........the "vibe" deal as I understand it does (not) ruin the seat.   It's basically a "gag" deal for female passengers.  It is not installed up front for the rider.  No need to install one if you don't normally carry a lady on the back and .......... ::)

It's smart to consider purchasing direct from Mustang. It will cost a bit more but the return policy is unbeatable. One might seriously consider buying direct at least for their first Mustang. If you love it, then you'll know from then on.

I'd certainly confirm return policy with anyone else if not direct.

Jesse..........Today is Sunday and I'm just now seeing your last msg.  Both Pado and I were at Poos on Friday and Saturday afernoon (late).  With the mob there,  you likely were there too and we just didn't know it.

I did go down and ended up buying the Mustang seat for my bike.  So far,  I'm liking it as it sits a little bit lower to the ground (easier to plant my feet at stop lites) and sits me back farther too.  It is a softer, more comfortable feel than the stock heated seat was.

Not sure yet if the additional (reach) for the bars will cause me to want a different set with more (pullback) or ???  I'll put some more miles on this week and decide.

As to the part the mounts on the front of the tour pak.......they were out of stock and will be sending it to my house via mail.  I was given a (how to "drill") by one of the reps as to altering the angle of the outer mounting studs to ease the installation, etc.

Per prior comments here on some dissatisfaction with that part,  I'm unsure as to what to expect. :nixweiss:

Sorry I missed you guys but they'll be another time. As for the Mustang, I also went by their tent and talked with them about my issues. Here are the results.

1. According to them, my luggage rack is mounted too far forward. They said the template that HD uses to mark the holes was positioned backwards, thus the installer at the factory drilled the holes too far forward. Whether or not this is true I don't know. CVORick's fit perfect but his is an 09 where mine is a 10. Maybe there's a difference.

2. According to them the loose backrest post tension can be adjusted by a set screw inside the seat. The main office did not tell me about this when I requested a return. I find that quite surprising. But Kathy at Mustang new I didn't care for the seat so she may have just wanted to allow me a return without sounding like she was hassling me by suggestion solutions that would not have changed my mind. I'll give them credit because being able to return these seats is a real customer service provision.

So, I decided to purchase the one piece unit on the spot and give it a try. My first impression was very good. The back rest is very comfortable. The seat moved me up further forward than stock which made for a more comfortable reach to the handlebars. However, after a few miles I began to feel as though I was sitting on top of the tank. The seat is smaller and shorter than stock and more of my leg is not on the seat leading to more pressure on a smaller part of my butt.

I have now tried two Mustangs and find that they simply do not work for me. I get hot spots and the positioning is just not suitable for my body. I will be returning this one also.

Mustang sells a lot of seats. No doubt a whole lot of riders fit them just fine. It's easy to see the quality build as well, but as for me they just don't work.

You may want to try a Saddlemen Road Sofa Seat.  You can  try it out for a short time and send it back if you don't like it.

This is my next choice. I've researched several seats and I wish I could try them all. Le Pera, C&C, Corbin and even the HD Road Zeppelin. But the Saddlemen is my next one. I'll post a "It's all about Saddlemen seats" and share my opinion over the next few days.

Part of my criteria is that the seat can be returned. Which pretty much rules out Corbin and C&C. Besides, I had a Corbin on my 95 Ultra and for what I can remember, I don't think I ever quite settled in to that firm construction they have. The break in period that they claim never did happen for me. But I'd at least like to try one again if I had the chance.
