I am not impressed with Mustang.
The wrap around is a pain to install. When installed it adds pressure to the trunk lid in such a way that it doesn't shut quite as tightly. Yes, you push down a smidgen and it will shut just fine but that pressure should not be there. The studs used to mount the wrap around to the trunk are adjustable to fit several years of bikes. This was a mistake in my opinion. There is no way to adjust them once you get them mounted and you have to mount them to find the perfect adjustment. I do not like there mounting design for the wrap around. Even when I finally found the best position of the studs, they stressed the trunk as noted above. It is not a perfect fit. Additionally, the top back of the wrap around presses against the chrome luggage rack. I do not like that either. There should be a space between the luggage rack and the back of the wrap around like there is on the stock.
The seat itself feels nice enough. However, I was not blown away by its comfort from the first sit. I did not feel like I was sitting down in my bike like I thought I would be. The seat did not make me feel at one with the bike. I felt like I was sitting on a seat that was mounted to the bike... if you know what I mean. But as we all know, to be fair, it takes several hundred miles to make a fair judgement call on comfort.
I don't like the way it moves me back. While I like the space it gives me by moving me further from the gas tank, I now have to reach further for the handle bars causing stress on the upper back. A handle bar change would be necessary sooner or later I believe.
The back rest post has notches in it and clicks as you push it down in to its hidden slot. However, the mechanism that is designed to hold the back rest in place is so loose that as I rode down the road the backrest continued to just vibrate down in to it's lowest position immediately every time after I reached back and pulled it up.
There is a very tiny slit in the wrap around that could lead to trouble later. No doubt Mustang would replace this and imperfections can happen to any manufacturer so this is not a complaint just an observation.
I will be returning the Mustang seat and trying something else.
