SEUC Seat Appearance
« on: February 12, 2006, 12:58:37 PM »

Getting off the paint topic for a while, I'd like to check-in with other '06 SEUC's on the appearance of your seat. Does your's look a crude as mine? [smiley=confused5.gif]

Have you tried using H-D Leather Dressing on it? Not sure if it will help, just a thought. I've used this product before, let it sit overnight, then wipe it off the next day (longer it stays on, better it works).

Maybe I missed the boat here? [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Are we talking about discoloration (perhaps it's my monitor or just old eyes ;D) or fitment?

My monitor/eyes say "fitment."  It does look a bit loose.

Dood, it's got the same kind of problem as the older lady who used to be able to get away without wearing a bra; and still thinks she can.  It kind of sags......  [smiley=nervous.gif]

My concern is the wrinkles in the leather. Color is Ok - the flash made it look a little washed out. I think this is the same seat they used in '04 and '05 on the SEEG isn't it? I'm planning to ask my dealer for a different seat at the 1K service unless you guys tell me they're all like this.

Well it looks like mine....not sure what your seeing wrong though....

I like the look of mine also....especially like the way it goes up the tank a ways, so if I ever get excited, My 'tommy' will have a nice soft resting place to lie.

This is not the same seat that was used on the FLHTCSE & FLHTCSE2. See below for what was used on those.

To (mis) quote the MoCo

"Leather is a natural material - it WILL gain character as it ages and the appearance of scars, marks and wrinkles are an indication of the lifestyle of the donor animal and should not be thought of as imperfections"

I suppose if you think of it like our skin then it makes sense - we pick up marks and scars and eventually (although of course this hasn't happened to me yet ::)) we get wrinkles - and we don't see them as imperfections - well the guys don't anyway...

They are just an indication of our lifestyle - right?

Which reminds me of a joke

Guy gets captured by wild tribesman far up the Amazon.

When asked if he had any last request before they skinned him alive and used his skin to cover their canoe - he thought for a moment then asked for a fork

They wondered why but gave him one anyway

He grabbed the fork and started to stab himself repeatedly all over his body saying "you're not making a boat out of me you b@st@rds"

Cheers

Dave
