V&H Softail Duals #16735
« on: June 20, 2010, 01:08:04 PM »

Thinking of replacing the stock pipes with the Vance and Hines True Duals part # 16735 and maybe add the fishtail tips.  Has anyone done this or any suggestions; i love the look.

Re: V&H Softail Duals #16735 INSTALLED
« Reply #1 on: July 03, 2010, 01:53:50 PM »

I assumed since no one replied to this thread, this installation has not been done by anyone; therefore i took the risk, ordered and installed them today @ the dealer.

Installation was a breeze (about 30 min by professionals).

Conclusion:
Looks are great, much better than anticipated.
Sound: WOW is the only was to describe it....these pipes are really load and i just ordered the quite baffles to keep the neighbors happy.
Power:  Another big WOW; it seems the stock pipes were holding this powerful engine hostage big time!!

The bike is now running hot and i am looking into different solutions which shouldn't be a big deal....although suggestions would be appreciated.

Pictures to follow.

You need to remap the fuel system for your new exhaust set up,  power commander, sest etc

Haven't heard from you in a while Kc . I hope your are getting many smiles to the gallon?

I think the reason why no body has answered is two fold...  we are out riding and no one has tried the V&H TD's...

Absolutely... grab you a TTS, Start off with the PQ176 map, complete your VTune runs and enjoy!   :2vrolijk_21:

Very interesting setup fadyco. How close does the left side pipe come to the oil tank? I'd love to see a pic from further away so I can "drink it all in".  Pipes really do make a big difference on this bike. Just wait until you do the computer, it gets even better. I am also using the TTS and with the Wiz's help she's running great.

Looks great, I had the same pipes on my 06 SEFB and I loved em!!! As of today I am the proud new owner of a 2010 FLSTSE and want to get those pipes for it as well, question is, will they work with the bags on?

The bags are nowhere near that low. The are above the Chrome rear axle cover.  :2vrolijk_21:
