If I can get em, I think I might go with the VH Monster rounds....

Talked to the guy at VH and he said that the when properly tuned, basic slip ons (the ones I have now )  2.25 in strait thru baffle  3HP gain  101 dB sound level

hi output slip ons  5-6 HP, 103 dB

Monster Ovals/ Rounds  7-8 HP  94 dB

Obviously the power gains are nice, I hope they are not too quiet.

Anybody else hear these or have them?  I have done a search but there is not much info from people who have experienced them as they have not been out long and they are backordered a lot.

Are the previous numbers with Stock Head Pipes, CAT in or CAT out? What would it be with V&H Power Dual, Dresser Duals and/or Fullsac X-Pipe. Should be higher, just curious.

i didn't specifically ask that question, but my impression is that the hp increases are what the mufflers by themselves will bring to the table with a proper tune, anything that an upgrade in header pipes will do would be added to that.  Again, my impression ....  could be wrong, but I doubt it!  ;)

Hey Dennis
Your Ultra has 3 large air flow restrictions. The stock air filter is the easiest to remedy and test. In the dyno room, removing the stock AC and testing with an open TB is an instant 5 hp gain on a stock CVO Ultra. Replacing it with a typical Stage I HD or Ness drops you back 2 HP. In other words, replacing the AC with a Stage I nets you a 3 HP gain.

Next: The stock cat headpipe and mufflers are both very restrictive. Replacing one with out the other will only show a 2 HP gain. Thats right, mufflers only, 2HP gain and that's it. Removing the cat from the stock headpipe combined with 2.0 cores will show a solid 8 HP gain. Step up to an XPipe and see another 4 HP. Remapping is required to support any substantial power gain. With the right combination of intake and exhaust bolt ons and a little computer work, 12-15 hp gains are common.
The dyno chart belongs to CVO Member Gail fields. 2010 CVO ultra, Stock VS Stage I XPipe Sleeper kit. Same day, same tank of gas. Gail had one of the strongest baselines I have ever seen at 102 TQ off the showroom floor.
Gail almost wheelied the whole block when he left!.

Thanks for the info Steve.

I am now considering  the vance and hines  Hi Output slip ons since they have a quiet baffle available as well, and I am wondering if it is possible to tune it with both baffles on the same day, save the maps and go between the two baffles when desired, changing the map. .  Sometimes I like it louder and sometimes I would rather have it quieter on a longer trip. Anybody know if this is possible?

That's definitely an option. If your getting old like me, the quiet ones will get used the most. I run the 1.75 cores in the stock CVO bodys. On the dyno the 1.75s make 2 HP less than the 2.0s. I do like the louder 2.0s for local Poker runs short hops. But I do a lot more interstate riding so the quieter 1.75s are used the most. The fuel mapping is only slightly different so I keep it mapped for 1.75s.

I usually run the Fullsac 1 3/4 on my 103 'cause I like to listen to the stereo all day, and the louder pipes "exhaust" me after 10 hrs in the saddle (excuse the pun!)
I'm running the 2" baffles right now, just doing short rides in town. and I run the same tune (TTS). Really do not notice any difference, just a tad louder, if that.
We're going on a 2 month ride end of July, and the 1 3/4" are going back in (along with removing the lowers!)
JMHO.

Interesting... If I do baffle adds/swaps w/o retuning, do you think I should tune to the quiet or the louder.... changing in which direction would have the least potential adverse effect  on the tune?   If I tune w/ the quiet baffles and take em out it will get leaner, no?  and vice versa, richer?

Thanks blokes!    :2vrolijk_21:

Any exhaust change that moves the torque curve substantially will have an equal effect on the AFR. The CVO 110s with the typical dual exhaust arrangement
only see small changes in power and AFR when switching between 1.75 and 2.0 mufflers cores. Long tube 2 into 1 systems are a different story. A quarter
inch in core diameter can destroy a torque curve and require a complete remap. Maybe try both baffles and decide on your favorite and map for that one.
