Hard saddlebags and wheels
« on: February 22, 2006, 07:01:07 PM »

I have an '05 and would like to install some easily removable hard saddlebags for those long trips (beats a backpack).

Tanker, I cant help you with the bags but the wheels are a good choice I was going to put the six spokes on an 05 if I had bought it. I think they have a great look. Im attaching the pic that
sold me on them.

I think I'm sold on the wheels as well.  It lightens up the heavy look of the solid wheel nicely.  Thanks for the help.  I've seen that pic before and it just didn't click until you attached it.

Check out the pic on this thread.  Slick is using the $700 HD bags which are a real nice look for the SEFB.

Just checked out the Barebacks detachable system.  Looks like a great piece of gear.  I'm suprised I haven't seen or heard more about it.  Searched for the Bad Boy Bags, but couldn't find them, but I'm sure the Barebacks will make everything else easier.

Those are nice looking bags and they do lock, but IMOP they are quite small. With an exhaust change you can go quite a bit larger. Plus with the right detachable hardware you can make any hard back saddlebag detachable. So there's a lot out there if you just look around. www.bossbags.com has some great ones. Some of the larger HD bags are great too. :) Sandy

The Boss Bags look just the right size.  Am also considering the $700 HD bags mentioned earlier.  Was looking for the non-leather type hard saddlebags also because I thought they would give a better look for the Fatboy.  I might have to wait and see how the different bags look on other people's bikes at upcoming events first before I set my heart (and wallet) on a set.

Altugo, I am also looking for detachable bags that I can use in conjunction with a sissy bar,
with the T-Bags I'll have plenty of storage for a short trip, and a backrest to beat, just as this refined looking rider is displaying.  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

also have the HD Slotted 6 Spoke wheels, but my dealer sent them out and had the ridges between each spoke sanded off and then had the whole wheel chromed...

Your wheels look great. Oh no, here comes the obession again. Now I'm thinkin' about new chrome wheels, thanks alot.
