I've got the same gripe with mine - and have been playing with running the stock light set a little low, but with the "high beams" on.  It's a huge improvement, and if you look at the light dispersion you're really not affecting other traffic.

Curous to hear if anyone else has tried it?

Got the DDM HID Lights installed.  They are really bright and are MUCH better than the stock lights.  There is plenty of room inside the fairing to mount the ballasts.

For $80 shipped, this is an inexpensive upgrade that was well worth it.

I am a bit concerned about the heat... the front of the light was warm... I never felt the front of the light with the Halogen bulb, so I can't compare.

I put the DDM HID bulbs in my v-rod and loved them.  Great lights! Never had any problems at all. you guys should love em.  I did however wire the low beam to stay on when i switched to high beam because the HIDs take a few seconds to warm up to full brightness. Which made for a super bright light!!

I intend to istall them in the street glide whenever i get it, but i have been unable to find anyone who has wired the dual bulb for the high/low beams to stay on together.

Kid, I installed the DDS HIDs this past weekend and the low beam stays on when the high comes on.

Hey Wheels... does your lowbeam stay on with the highbeam?  mine does... the high doesn't add a tremendous amount of additional light.

They are bright though!

Yes Installed mine yesterday and man what a difference last night. Probably the most bang for the buck mod so far!

By the way the H11 bulbs do not come with connectors and the H8 bulbs do. If I was doing it again I would order 2 H8 bulbs they interchange and it has all the connectors on it.

You could probably just do the low beam you may never need High again except to let other drivers "know you are on low beam"
