Re: TW7h from 255 on a 110 cvo attached results 110hp/118trq

this from fuel moto  with a pcv  from H.D forum  couldnt get the dyno sheet to copy over  but is posted on this page on that site. i bet if they used a d&d 2-1 pipe and had a tts master tuneer i bet it wouldve been even higher,  So with all  things being equal as dewey said it should be!  the tw-7 kicks ass over the lame  255

vs SE255 Cams test 110" CVO Road Glide
Here are some results from a cam swap we did yesterday. This bike is a 2009 CVO 110" Road Glide. For exhaust it has a non catalyst head pipe and Klock Werks mufflers, it was also equipped with a Dynojet PC-V since last year. This bike belongs to a long time Fuel Moto customer from the other side of the state that has brought us several of his bikes over the years for dyno tuning and services. He was looking for better performance, better response, as well as cooler running. While the stock SE255 cams are very good for very low end performance we were looking for improvements thru out the entire RPM range. We chose the Wood TW-7H which has a the same open/closing specs and duration as the popular TW6-6, however the TW-7H has .575 lift versus the .510 lift of the TW6-6 which will work especially well on the 110" motor, there is also a big difference in dynamic compression compared to the stock SE255 cams. The timing of the TW-7H will allow the motor to rev more freely and be less prone to detonation. We started with a full dyno evaluation just as the bike came in which was 90Hp/108Tq. Conditions were poor as we had 90+ degrees and over 40% humidity. We did the cam swap, gave it a full dyno tune and the final numbers we 110Hp/118Tq, when we finished the tune it was over 100 degrees and very humid however the results are very impressive with nealy +20Hp/10Tq gain from a cam swap. The before and after results are shown below. The improvement is excellent, with immediate response and the idle is awesome. I will try to get some video before the bike is picked up. More to come.......

Please post the link. Can't find the sheet + info on the fuelmoto site.

Didn't you do some comparisons with the 255 and the TW7 on the 110's? Here is the link...

HMMM!!! The numbers shown as the true hp etc are surprisingly close to the numbers I posted.Perhaps I am not crazy as some (elitist snob) on this site has suggested. Thanks for the post from across the pond.

yeah  european air is thinner haa haa haa,    but pretty good for a cam change with other mechanical changes and no 2-1 pipe . looks likeJamie tunes a decent bike with a pcv,

how are your number posted close to fuel motos  post???????  you had 100hp/103 trq  And fuel moto posted 110 hp/118 trq  thats not close at all   dont know how you figured that one????? and  again u had a 2-1 pipe????????

If fuel moto used  the same  2-1 pipe on their dyno(all things to be equal remember??)  run it would be even higher hp and trq numbers.

you and your 255 cam have  been spanked!

Guys

This thread is turning into a "My tool is bigger and better than your tool" match.
Both of you have done very well in making your position and point well known.
I suggest the good people of this fine site are smart enough to read all of these post and make their own decisions.
Those decisions are easy since they can be changed or reversed if results don't meet expectations.
I chose to buy a 110 and no cam change or pipe change or tuning will ever make me believe that purchase was a good decision.
So as in life, we live and learn from our decisions and choices.
Unfortunately it has been a very expensive education process.

no it isnt a matter of who's  is bigger , if it was the tw555 or a 54h , which are better than the 255  and closer in specs,   id probably have to agree some, but  it was stated the the tw7h falls short on torq  when compared with the se255 on a same comparable bike  and it has been shown it puts out more.  and ohhh yes it is expensive,   12 harleys over a lifetime  and  a high 6 figure toy bill  i can tell you

just my personal experience............the Woods TW7H really rocks when tuned correctly.  Its pulling just under 120 lbs. of torque.  She is responsive and pulls hard !...Had a local Harley dealer tune it, which was very disappointing.....had Jamie at Fuel Moto tune it ....she was reincarnated and is a totally different beast.   Very happy with my cam decision now  :orange:

I just had a look again at the FuelMoto curve. It's almost an exact copy of the one we made. (in djchp)

hey vosselman
well  if you tune a cvo 110  with a tw7 and get less torque than a s.e.255 ,  u need to go back and relearn tuning 101 somewhere, or something is wrong either mismatched   or  components incorrectly installed,  and i wasnt comparing your  dyno chart  it was the numbers originally posted, well yours suck also for a tw7 tuned 110.  ive seen fuel curves alike yours  but have more,
