I really do see the point of these long comments, if after inspection by both party's if nothing is found to be incorrect, then he just plain "screwed up" (or pilot error if you perfer) and  lost control while trying to ride with too many other bikes & can not accept the blame for the postion he is now in, terrible as it is.  Every time ANY of us get on one of these things we must accept that this can happen.  If one can not accept that fact, it's time to start playing golf.

May as well weigh in here, too.

My 08 CUSE has the wobble....it surprised me the first time I experienced the wobble.  It has, however, only happened:

a) in curves
b) during periods of decel because I got into the curve too hot

The other observation I have to make is this:  I have NEVER experienced this type of wobble on my Kaw Vulcan cruisers (decel in curves).

I have never experienced wobble on any of my bakes when traveling in a straight line.  AND, when traveling in a straight line on my CUSE doing a panic stop, 2-up, to avoid hitting a deer, the bike did not wobble at all and the ABS brought it to a very rapid stop while my face was pressed hard into the windshield and my better half was all over my back.

I know now to be extra careful not to go into curves too hot on the CUSE.

Just my $0.02

it's not soooo easy.

There are by far too many experienced bikers who had the "wobble" on perfectly maintenanced bikes under perfect conditions and at modest speed.

We got one case over here very well documented as it happened to our former secretary of interior Heinz Eggert in 2003 and he was closely followed by his bodyguards in a video equipped car. At just about 80 mph his 01 E-Glide got the "wobble" in an ever so slight bend at the Autobahn, fresh pavement, bike 15.000 m, perfect condition, just out of warranty, last service some 200 m ago, no wind, no other apparent reason. The accident was most scrupulousely inspected as first suspicions went in the direction of an attempt.

Bike totalled, he suffered a hepatic rupture and will never be riding again. The case didn't go to court as Heinz accepted it as "bad luck" and didn't want to blame anybody ...

at one time Harley had over 16,000 lawsuits against them over what they called the high-speed wobble.  Hawaii got rid of all their Harleys after several police officers went down at speeds under 60.  The high speed wobble can actually occur as low as 40.  There are several people making fixes for this out there.  One of the first was true track.  Even Harley addresses this in one of their patents for the Buell.   Actually it states that any rubber mounted motor must be attached to the frame with 3 anchor points to prevent wobbles.most of the rubber mounted motors were only anchored with 2 points. the 2009 and newer has 5 anchor points and a stiffer frame.  The first time it happened to me was on a new 99 Dyna at freeway speeds of about 55 going straight.  And one other time and a sweeper from one freeway to another online 99 Dyna.  When I purchased my 2003 road glide in most sleepers it would do it   So I did some research.  I put on the true track Never had the issue after that. No issue with my 2009 roadglide or my 2011 CVO road glide. just my experience.

I had the problem with a Honda back in the 80's or early 90's.  It used to happen over a certain mph range...I don't remember just range that was...but I'll take a guess and say it was between 50 and 60 mph.  I had 2 choices; speed up or slow down.  When it first started happening, I would stop and look for a problem.  I never did find out what caused the problem since I sold it to a police officer that lived in my neighborhood.  On my 09 SEUC, I start to feel it coming on around 115mph and that's when I back off.  Smooth until I get to that point.  My 06 VRSCSE2 doesn't seem to have any problems at any speed thus far, but I've only been into the low end of the 120's with it so far.  All of the above is going in a straight line.

The only other experience I've had with the wobble was on my 07 Road King Classic going through sweeping curves and I would always have to slow myself down because I felt like I was losing control in curves on that bike all the time.

Yes, I feel bad for this guy, but it makes absolutely no sense for someone to experience this for the first time and speed up.  Seriously, if you start having a wobble that bad that you are going to lose control, who speeds up?  I wouldn't just slow down, I would stop and check the bike over to make sure something isn't drastically wrong.  Last year when my front end started feeling strange at 95mph, I pulled off the road immediately.  I was almost down to riding on the rim.  Anyway, the point is, I certainly wouldn't have speeded up.

A new front motor mount seems to have 'fixed' my bike.....at least so far.
