Everything else looked fantastic.  The Mackie TC598 cams looked like new.  No signs of wear at all.   Top end all looked good, also.  Rocker arm bushings tight.  Rocker arm and lifter cups and pushrod tips looked good.  No signs of wear in the Feuling Oil Pump.  None of the anodized Red worn off anywhere.  I'm lucky that my crank has such little runout.   Very happy with everything with the exception of the chain tensioners.

Good news! I'll have to keep this in mind when it comes time to replace the cams in the 02. Looks like I'll go gear drive after all. Mackie 590's may be just the thing.

The Mackie 590's are great cams.  Put a 95" motor together for a friend with these cams.  Pulls very strong.  Really woke up the motor.

What compression was that 95? I'm at 9.74 - 1. I may need to bump it some for this cam.

Dave recommends this cam for 88, 95 and 103 motors in stock configuration (stock compression) with the exception of the valve springs.  He recommends bumping the compression with the 598 cams, but not the 590 cams...  I think you would be fine at 9.74.

Jeff, I know a 95" around here that got the 590s last spring with stock compression.  That bike runs well enough the Road Glide keeps asking why it can't have those cams instead of the 510s that are in it.  Maybe for its birthday.....

Cool!

I'll send you mine so you can use them in your bike.
Cause I wouldn't reuse the ones out of my bike.
Wait, the trash has already been picked up.
Sorry, maybe Scott will send his.

Heard you the first time...

The left side groove has a chunk out of it thru to the metal backer.

You can use it in your motor.  For $30 some dollars I'll replace mine.

Reusing cheap parts that are already out in your hand makes as much sense as trying to impress your date by taking her through the corkscrew at Laguna Seca in a white dress with an open soda.

It does say a lot about the type of man your dealing with!

Now that's the kind of real world knowledge that can be damn helpful. Ya never know, those tensioners may be going bad while she's sitting in the garage right now?!?!  :o  :D  ;D
