Isn't there an issue with the '09 SERG's engine guard lower fairing support bracket hitting the "new" style lowers? Even if the new lowers can be modified or the brackets can be replaced like some have done here, if it's not a bolt on there will be no painted to match from HD for our three colors.
Maybe this is not the case, but I think painted to match for our three colors is not going to happen. I could the '11s available painted to match for the '10s in the SESG models, but that would be only a guess on my part. If they do become available as a kit, I'm sure painting will not be an issue.
Although for the '09 SERG O/B like mine, Vivid Black is the color that would have been used on lowers if they had been installed at the factory. I think that Vivid Black for the '11 lowers with speaker modules would be a factory available color because of the wide fit range throughout the HD line of touring Vivid Black models.
I haven't done the search, but wasn't the only difference in the pre-'10 lower fairing was the longer top cross piece of plastic that covered the engine guard and went inward toward the frame. Wasn't it this inward protrusion that guys changed out the fairing bracket to clear? It seems to me I saw someone post a picture of them side by side and that they said all one would have to do is cut off about 1.5" of the inward protrusion to make them fit a standard '09 SERG.
I am now very curious about this and have been thinking about getting some lowers for my SERG O/B. Having speakers in them would just be a bonus to my system.
Is there any new information on this available?
Thanks.
