Hello, minor intro then the question:
Half a Horseman here in Australia... Reining Horses... State and National level NRHA...   My seventh Harley, Iron Horse, 2011 CVO ...  I am old school, started with the first Shovelhead a 1966 jammed into a 57 straight leg frame stretched so a 10" over, wide glide front end, sat almost level... Suicide Clutch, Jockey Shifter, old school...

Thank you in advance for my question on my new CVO...

I just bought the old Harley Colors orange and black 2011 CVO Street Glide with the 110.  Are the 110 motor problems I hear about worked out now?  I want to leave it pretty much stock, Vance and Hines Headers, opened up Super Trapp mufflers....  Is it pretty much a reliable engine the 110?  I would think it would have to be for HD to put it in all the CVOs, but what do you think? If there are problems like heat, what do I look for.  It is summer here in Oz, 30+ C so about 100 F, and we are running synthetic.  I just had a first service and it still runs a bit ragged and coarse but I expect to have to get a few thousand on it before it smooths out.  OK with all that?  Problems worked out or what do I look for...

Regards to all from Australia (Careful riding at night because of the roos)

Welcome from Arizona,

I started with a 55 with wishbone (dog leg) frame. Son has it now.

The 110 had problems in 2007 and 2008 and they are good since 2009. At least for my two 110's.
My 2007 was in the shop 6 times with the recall before the factory put a new 2009 engine.

my 2010 110 has 24,000 miles and not one bit of trouble.

G'Day and welcome Cowboy2,

I think most of the 110 motor problems have been resolved.  22,500 on my '09 and seems fine (knock on wood).  Your mods and a tune should cool the motor down.  The stickers run quite lean....

Welcome to the site from the Netherlands and congrats on the bike. Awsome choice :2vrolijk_21:. I jut bought a 2011 CVO with a 110 motor too and the same questions were crossing my mind too. I guess that a lot depends on how the bike is tuned cause the dealer overhere told me that they tend to run hot in the earlier years. I'm getting other (catalyst free) headers on mine and make sure it gets some more fuel to make it run cooler by having a SERT installed and mapped. I always use the higher octane fuel on my Harley's, thats usually the most expensive one over here. We pay about 1,60 in euro's average for a liter, that is over 6 euro's for a gallon but I figure if its better for the engine It gives me a piece of mind while riding. I know that in some country's they mix the fuel with ethanol and other chit to make it more environmental friendly but older engines have problems overheating. Gasoline containing lead probably would be best for the engine but that's history. The last bike I had before this one was a 96 cubic inch 2008 Ultra Classic and returning from vacations in the south of Europe we travel distances of close to 900 miles to home in one run wile cruising 140 km/h thats around 87 miles If I'm not mistaking, and the engine runs like clockwork. If the 110 is half as good as that bike was with that engine, I'm not complaining.

Best regards Hank
