Oh yea....did I mention that the stock front suspension on a HD sucks?  ;)  Putting better rear shocks on just makes the front end more noticeable.  That's going to have to be changed in the not too distant future.

You need to get a cow-bell mounted so she can yell something else from time to time.   ;D  har.  spyder

I've never heard a good report about the gauge working for very long...even the tech I talked to at Legend said it was pretty much a waste of money.  The gauge pretty much bounces around constantly when going down the road, so it wears out quickly.  It might be useful sitting still and getting them to a certain pressure though.  Let me know how it works for you if you decide to do it.
Terry, my 2nd gauge has worked for years, still does.  The 1st one didn't have a chance, it was mounted right above my rear cyl. head before I cooled the motor off & boiled the glycrine out of it.  They replaced & it's been golden since!  ;) spyder

Does it help you "set" things easier while running down the road?  If so, what kind of pressures do you typically see?

Yes, I usually run it up to 60 and go up or down from there by 'feel'.  I had a switch go bad and it would cut on itermittantly and pump up to max as I was running down the road.....rear end of the Huckleberry all jacked-up in the clouds before I could catch it and finally replaced the toggle and now all's well again.  I like having the gauge for add'l. input.  ;) spyder

They did have problems with the old gauges due to the cylinder head mount that beat the hell out of them, along with the heat. The new gauges mount in the dash, in place of the air temp gauge, so it doesn't get anywhere near the vibration or heat. Should be fine.

The key is, once you do find the settings you like, then you can take mental note and zip right to them instead of starting over at ground zero every time - and slightly tweak from there if you want.  Without the gauge, it's kind of like scanning for FM radio stations you might like, but the display and presets don't work. Groundhog day over and over. After one season without the gauge, I'm done. PITA.

I can see where the gauge would be handy...BUT, they only come in white or black, and that would not match the rest of the gauges on the SERGU.  May have to come up with some alternative place to mount one.

That's exactly the issue. I have both the black and white gauge, and I'm still not sure which I will eventually go with. The other thing to keep in mind is, the Legend gauge is smaller than the existing gauges, and are not lit.  And, in their infinite wisdom, they decided to go with a 0-300 psi sweep, which is far beyond the range of the shocks, so you only use a small portion of the gauge.

I'm half considering going with an Autometer Pro-Comp 4320 which is backlit, a full 2-1/16" diameter, and has a sweep of 0-150 psi. The only issue is, is that it's not oil filled.  I'm contemplating calling them and asking if they can match the spun gauge dial and add oil, but I know it's going to be ridiculous in cost for a one up. I think I'll try the white for a while and see how it goes.

Just got my AutoMeter Air Pressure Gauge and was pleasantly surprised to see that instead if it having a white face, it's a brushed aluminum. While not an exact match, I think this is going to look pretty good.  Having the 0-150 psi instead of the 0-300, and plus being the same size of the stockers and backlit, this route is 100x better than going with the Legend gauge, Imho.

Let me know how the install goes and how well it works for you.  If I could come up with some other mounting option, other than taking the place of the air temp gauge (useless POS), I would like to have a gauge on board.

You could always revert back to the cylinder head mount. At least you'll have something?

That placement still works well for me......toggle gets a bit hot for bare hands, but gloves make it workable.  spyder

Guys, I found your topic in a search, so I hope you are still looking!  I just bought a SEEG with Bilstiens and I saw that the max pressure is 100#, but I don't have a gage, and I was wondering about a few things.  First, how fast do these little compressors get you up to 100#, Can you over-pressure and wreck the shocks with them easily, and is there an over-pressure relief device?  Thanks in advance.
