Anyone else got these little buggers and got them installed yet?  Someone's OCD had to be so bad that they got them in hand one day and put them in the next....  Someone is holding out and it's pis.....  it's just not fair.

Does the engine case need to be "clearanced" for the cam lobes on the Redshift cams?

You need to check it. 30 thou is the min. On a S&S 585 you need to take out some so I would think you will be very close. You will need a couple of cans of brake clean to clean the cavity one before you start and on when you are finished. Duct tape the openings in the case and use a dremel tool to take out what you need. Be sure you check the top and bottom areas of the case where the lobe passes! It really is very easy. If you have any problems PM me.

I have used a dremel / die grinder in the past and I won't make that mistake again. It took a long time to clean all of the metal dust out of the cam chest. I purchased the tool from Zippers that cuts the case, It works much better than the dremel method and the clean up much easier as the particals are much larger than the fine dust that the dremel leaves behind. (Everytime I use it and thank myself again for buying it.)

I just did a cam swap in an 03 with S&S 510G cams (.510 lift) and I clearanced the case because they were right at the .030 clearance area. I have the tool so it was a no brainer to go ahead and do it. These cams are a 575 lift so I would think it will be very close [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
