Installing my highway pegs on 2010 SEUC
« on: February 27, 2011, 09:04:00 PM »

Yes, I have allowed a year to lapse before I install my highway pegs on my beloved SEUC. Never wanted to disrupt the look but it is time because I have some miles to do in Daytona and they will be put to good use. I want to take care cosmetically. Does everyone do the chrome to chrome connection? No Teflon tape or similar at the contact point? I have seen "covers" on the nut end that sticks out but my dealer hasn't a clue about a vendor who makes them. I'd appreciate advice on how to get this install done right. Leaving in a few days and would like to have them on...the right way. Thanks as always.

Chrome-to-chrome holds best.  Yes, it will mar the crash bar (engine guard for the lawyers) a little but you can always replace the crash bar & no one will know.

Had to go and look at mine to see what that nut looked like.....

Here is a picture of mine and I think it looks good as it is.

I agree, it looks fine. A friend said someone made a nut cover (no wise cracks) but it seems totally unnecessary. Thanks to all.
