Gator ,snake,bear,ish I quit  :confused5:

Nah... I think someone will get it soon. If it isn't figured out by Tuesday, I'll post the answer on Wednesday.
Btw, I was at a friends house with the bike, he was having a party. A neighbor saw everyone staring at the bike
so he came over. He immediately named the material without prompting. When I asked him how he know, he
showed me his wallet made of the same material.

Hint: Someone out there might have a wallet made from this material or their wife might have a clutch or small handbag made from it.

stingray?

DING DING DING! We have a winner!
Congratulations, you know have official bragging rights.

The stingray hide is very tough and resilient. The other shell of the stingray hide is actually bone. The inner side is the skin.
The bone is typically dyed - colors vary between black, blue, purple, red and even some tiger type patterns.
These hides started out black and the graphics were obtained by grinding down the bone to remove the black color and then dying the desired colors.
My upholsterer has never seen anyone work a seat in this fashion and believes it to be quite unique.

You are not just seeing things.. here is a list of the LED lighting positions.

1. Rear End (obviously), flush mounted and invisible until the lights are turned on - 6 LEDs on the rear end in total.
2. Tank - a ribbon of white LEDs on both sides of the tank. You should be able to notice on one of the tank pictures that the round orbs have a bit of "brightness" to them.
3. Front Fairing - has 4 round LED lights, amber - the two towards the front (left and right) are set up as both running and turn signal lights. The other 2 towards the rear of the fairing are turn signal only and not pictured.
4. Inverted scoops (tunnels) have a bar of white LEDs behind a smoked lens. There is one picture of the right side tunnels.
5. Not pictures and not LED but I followed the example of another poster her on CVOHarley and had Xenon HID lights installed in the headlights. Nice and bright  8) (gotta wear shades)

Simon

We already know enough about this bike to say one thing with certainty.  It's a truely "unique" and "different" bike than the same ol'....same ol'.  That alone makes it very refreshing Simon and I don't think I am alone when I say we are really looking forward to seeing pics of this bike when it's completed.

Hopefully one of the magazines will pick up on it.  Be sure to email them pics the day it's completed and let them know you'll be in Sturgis.  I'll be real surprised if two or three of them don't try to make an appt. with you. :2vrolijk_21:

Man, am I a push over or what? Here are some dusk pictures and a few in my garage. The lighting conditions were challenging for my camera so the quality is a bit rough.
