Yes I am smitten by the BIG BLUE color.... I have another outrageous color, the orange and black original HD Bar and Shield colors CVO Street Glide...  Now I really like the Auto Locking boxes, bumbling in the dark with the cylinder lock and key sux...  And I really like the top box, my face gets burned in summer, so in goes helmet and out comes cowboy hat... 8)   :2vrolijk_21:

But my question is:  Friends is the ride that much better?  I am starting to feel a bit greedy and silly, as I could add the black box tour pack to my CVO Street Glide.  I know the seat is fatter, I had a 2010 Ultra standard FLHT, and it is a BIG FAT seat compared to my Street Glide hotrod seat.  I guess, is the tyres bigger? The suspension softer with the air suspension?  Or am I going through the change costs to just get the auto locking and COOL BLUE..?

I am just having second thoughts, as I wonder if I am being wasteful... You two wheeled Buddies are the only unbiased ones to ask... I already have the cool passing lights, V&H exhaust, race tuner, LEDs in front and back, chrome indicator mirrors, and more...  I could get a full black Tour Box Set on a docking station quick mount... So am I just being WASTEFUL to get the auto locking, being a girl about it?  I mean I could even get a quick disconnect fat a$$ed FLHT seat for the long trips that are a pain to an old fella like me... It is going to be hard to sell my SESG hot rod, and too greedy (guilty) keeping both (which I would be tempted to do if the ride is that much different)...  Is the FLHXSE2 handling that much better being dropped in the back.. ? But the comfort for the long haul that much better in the FLHTCUSE6?

Appreciate your advice, like who else could I ask.... Thank you in advance... Mind you, I can afford it, no worries on the cost... The Lord has Blessed me richly, I just wonder if I am being wasteful...  Just making sure I am doing the right thing and not just being a little kid about it...  :2vrolijk_21:

Your comments are welcome, July delivery is a looooong wait to Australia......

Well for me it would be a no-brainer if I could afford to buy and keep both bikes I would in a heartbeat. All I know is my 09SEUC is the best bike I have ever had never been on a Street Glide. If the 2011's ride better than the 09's I don't want to know because I must keep what I have for a while. Others will help you I am sure. Good luck.

Im pretty sure you can add the remote locking latches to any saddle bag or tour pack. I believe its in the P&A catolog. Around $700 if I remember right.  But if u can swing 2 bikes, go for it. You will just have a turf decision when u get ready to ride! Which color today?

Well Guys,

Thank you for the answers so far...  But is the suspension and ground clearance, is the ride that much better???????????????
I mean, I am going down in stereo, and while BIG Blue is beautiful, so is my FLHX O and B....  How about that ride business, is it all fat seat, or is the air adjustable suspension make that much difference...

Any help on this?  Stupid to have two, if they are that close.  Any help is appreciated.  It is $50,000 here in Australia. And I do like my FLHX.  Would you suggest I just get the top box, wiring harness for the light on it, and a fat seat, is that all their is to it?  I was told here the locking boxes were not an option to add on in Australia, but if they are, that kind of puts another light on the matter.  It feels a little wasteful (read guilty feeling, ha) but to have two that are this close seems a bit silly if I can just get a change of seat and boxes... Any more input.. :confused5:

Thank you friends in America.  Here I don't even know anyone in my area with a full HD Dresser, only bloody Hondas...   :nixweiss:

Best regards from your Friend in Australia... Cowboy

I can't answer the model differences but I can tell you compared to the RK and CVO Street Glide that I have had experience.
When I picked up the Ultra last week, I was only going to put the 3 year extended warranty in effect. After a 20 mile extended lunch ride, I called and asked whether I could go out to 5 years. I really fell in love with her after just a short ride.
I had not ever had a test ride because no one wants test miles on an expensive CVO. My wife preferred the King as it had a sundowner seat. I;m sure she will only want the Ultra when asked which is great as I love the SG and can take off her backrest. The Ultra is just smooth and seems to handle like it slightly bigger. I wanted wind and it has enough. I can go riding in cooler weather as it has the heated seats and grips and more wind protection up front. The SG seems to be more responsive as its a slightly lighter bike or feels so. I hope this helps a little.

Having had a SG and a Ultra I would say IMHO that the SG handles better. Your Rear shocks are better than the air set-up. You have lower profile tires and less weight. All that adds up to better handling, especially at lower speeds. I personally like the Ultra better but I can't swing two bikes. The ultra to me is more comfortable and fits my riding style better. If you can spend some time on any ultra it would help in your decision. The suspension is the same on the CVO as a stock Ultra. If it was me I'd do a TP on the bike you have now and have the best of both worlds. As far as the power bag locks never really cared, not a big deal to me. But then again if you can do both, they have enough of a differant feel to justify two. JMHO

( I am just having second thoughts, as I wonder if I am being wasteful,)  I don't think you are being wasteful you are helping somebody to keep their job :)
And with being able to have the extra Cash you need to spend it on the things that make you happy :) And the older we get the Ride is getting shorter everyday

I have both a '10 SESG and an '11 SEURG.  When I want to "hot-rod" around solo, I take the SESG.  It has a lighter feel and the rear suspension, IMO, is better than the SEURG's (even though the 11 SEURG air suspension is actually very nice). The SEURG is my "two-up" bike that momma and I take out.  She loves the way the SEURG rides and absolutely loves the new seat it has.  My advice would be if you can afford both, get both.  You won't regret it.   :2vrolijk_21:

Wow Guys,

The quality of those answers is really coooool  !  "RacerDJ", agree there is a real difference in the feel, but I could not put my finger on it.  My CVO Street Glide does hang into the corners harder, but it is a skinny seat and hard on the bones after a few hours for an Old School like me... While I was thinking it was all suspension,  I think 'Bubblehead" might have hit is RIGHT ON THE HEAD.... It is the low profile tires!!!!  Not only do the fatter tyres soften the ride on the Ultra per my memory of my last one, but the low profile tyres on the SG makes it hang in there more on the corners......

Guys, Guys, I think you have really helped me... The majority of you say if I can afford it, keep both..  The Street Glide is my Hot Rod around the area, hour or so radius, with the skinny seat, the low profile tyres, the stiffer suspension, that is why I remember my Ultra being a lot more of a long range machine.  The fat tyres, made my Ultra wallow a little pushing it on the curves, the air suspension let half down made it a soft non bone jarring ride, the fat seat makes it good too..  It is a combination of all of them put together...  I will keep both.

When I am going on a long run, Touring, or late at night when the extra lights on the top box can count for LIFE, and no fumbling in the dark with the cylinder keys with the Auto Locking in the dark, then the CVO Ultra is THE MACHINE....THE CADILLAC !!

But if it is just a Mob of Guys, Hot Rodding around the coast, up in the range for lunch, then the CVO Street Glide is my RIDE and the Granny Glide stays home.  The profile of the tyres, the suspension, the seat, the boxes, it does add up to enough differences for me to justify having BOTH!!

You Guys have been great, angles I had not thought of, and the differences are there to add up to both scooters for a purpose... PHATT Garage...

And GOD BLESS AMERICA, We Aussies are with you...  Stuff Gadafi and hang that camel on the wall with his tongue hanging out!!!

Keep 'em both, if you can afford to do so, and it sounds like you can.  The Ultra probably offers more creature comforts for long hauls, and the new seat does seem to be much better than the old versions.  BUT, I would not expect the ride to be all that different, other than ground clearance in curves (the Ultra has the full 13" suspension).  I have not ridden the new Street Glide, so really can't compare, but generally speaking, the stock suspension sucks on all HD bikes.  That's just my opinion, but I do have a basis for comparison, so it is an educated opinion.
