Whats the black on the lower section of the crash bars?
They are the ProGuards that RideLikeAPro sells/sponsors. Since I have the highway pegs on there, I've actually cut the tops off to make it fit. In the shot in post #60, you can see I have some on the rear guards as well.
Note: If you decide to buy them, recommend you buy from RideLikeAPro and not ProGuards directly. They are cheaper from RideLikeAPro and they shipped them to me immediately. For whatever reason, when I bought my second set I ordered from ProGuards directly and it took almost 3 weeks before they shipped them out via a slower delivery option. Later I realized I also paid $5 more for the set.

Saved my front guards when she fell over. The rear didn't fair so well as the bike tipped over so hard as to roll all the way up to the speaker pods. Actually tore the guard up and pulled it off. However, besides the protective aspect they offer, I like the cosmetic look they add.
On my Springer, they help fade the crash bars away from the profile of the bike. If I find a shot of her that shows it, I'll edit and link the shot.
Edit: Found a shot on here already that shows the full guards on the Springer, but I don't think I have a head on shot to reference. Hope this still gives you an idea of what I mean.
