Some may think I'm crazy, but...
« on: April 01, 2011, 04:56:07 PM »

I'm lucky enough to have a great dealer who called me the other day to say the he has a beautiful new CVO sitting on his showroom floor that has my name on it and wanted me to come and have a look.

It was the new awesome Krypto that I have been eyeing on this site and the MoCo's website for a long time.
I had previously seen the other beautiful CVO SG's in person and with the delay on the Krypto, this was the first up close viewing (in person) that I have had.

Although it is an amazing bike, the colour wasn't what I had expected, so it didn't really shout at me to take it home.

I just couldn't being myself to give up my '05 2-Tone Teal that I love to ride for this bike, and before you say it, there's no more room in my garage for another bike.  So I passed on the Krypto with a big thank you to my dealer for thinking of me.  But he's sitting on it for a couple of days.

Am I crazy or what?

Don't judge the color until you have seen it outside in the sunshine.

The Krypto really is a beautiful bike. If I wanted a SG that would be the one.

While I do like the ride of the new frame over my '06, if the bike is not screaming take me home...then don't do it. Test drive it, see it in the sun and decide.....

Thats a tough call Grizzly ( not the being crazy part...your not )  IMHO don't just walk away without a decent test ride because you might find it to be "the one".  With you having another full dress to tour on  you might like the convenience of the SESG  :nixweiss:

While the Kryptonite might not scream out at you, get it outside and then see what you think.  But I really feel that if they let you take it for a test ride, you'll buy it.  It will ride so much nicer than your SEEG.

Well I didn't like that color at first either but it really POPS out in the sun. I think you would be very surprised and very happy with the way the 2011 SG rides and handles compared to your 05'. I say you would not regret the new Street Glide.

Go back and see the bike a few times and in the sun light.   Maybe get your dealer to dealer trade the krypto for the orange :) if that suits you better hehe.

It's a decision that you'll have to live with so I'll not say either way.  However, I wiil share my experience with you.

As one of the first 04 SEEG owners and having rode that bike ocean to ocean, Canada a couple of times and Mexico.....many, many mods to make it suit me and my needs......when it came to buying the 2010 SESG, secreatly I wondered if I was going to have remorse and really miss my SEEG.  I kept that thought to myself, but it was there and at times was pretty strong......I loved that bike!

I still had it when I first got my SESG however, it didn't get ridden at all.  Once it was sold, to my surprise, I never looked back.  The SESG is just so much more than the SEEG could ever be.  The improved handling with the newer frame style, the added safety of the ABS brakes (it works remarkebly well, even on a wet road or sand), etc.

That's my experience, that's my story and I'm stikin to it! :2vrolijk_21:

By the way......rode another SEEG a short while back......felt like I was riding a tractor and couldn't wait to get back on my SESG. :nervous:
