Amp has arrived and will be install on Wedensday.

Had the new amp installed today and my 16000 km service. ;D

The sound is clear.....maybe because for the last 12000 km it sounded like crap anything now sounds good. :nixweiss:

BUT

I believe that it is not as loud as it used to be. Was on the hwy and it was loud again but not like it used to be.

I am thinking that maybe the new replacement amp has been tuned down. Has anyone one else noticed this that has the replacement amp?

Not even200 km since the new amp was installed and guess what? This amp is cutting in and out worst than the first one. This one also dies and comes back.

Unbelievable. >:(

Mano,

Bummer! I'm waiting for my amp right now. They have told be that the original amp (Part # 77041-11) has been discontinued, although they are out there for sale by HD. The new amp (Part #7600014) was supposed to be shipping on July 25th from HD's packager (according to HD customer service).

I have been told by HD that this new amp has all of the bugs worked out. We'll see!

What part number amp did you get installed on July 22nd?

I'm curious to see if your HD dealer just installed another bad amp or if the new part number is still causing problems.

Mine went out at around 600 miles. Dealer said it's a known problem and ordered a replacement which is a new model which is supposed to fix the problem, had the new amp installed yesterday and the sound is much better than the original which sounded like a noisy portable radio at freeway speeds. I can now enjoy it at any speed.

HD customer service told me today that MY new amp shipped last Thursday to my local dealer. They said shipping would take 3-5 days.

I'm crossing my fingers,, may I'll have tunes for the weekend. ;D

Well, my amp finally arrived this morning at the dealership. Problem is that they have so many bikes getting work done for Sturgis that they can't get me in until next Weds. Wait a minnute, I want to go to Sturgis to but with tunes in my ear.

I'm sure their are better HD Dealers across the country but St. Charles Harley Davidson, Doc's Harley Davidson (The oldest HD dealer west of the Mississippi), Bourbose Harley Davidson, Gateway Harley Davidson and Surdyke Harley Davidson are all too busy?  :nixweiss: Wow, 5 out of 5! Maybe I should go to Vegas instead.

Oh Well, it's too darn hot out anyway to ride (A balmy 100). I think I'll just stay home with a few cold ones and jump in the pool!

Stay Cool! :coolblue:

This IS the amp they put in my bike last Wed. It lasted 2 hours. >:(

Died completely yesterday. >:(

Was at the dealer for 2 hours today. They did a diagnostic and confirmed that the amp did cut out. Then they cranked it up till it died. Then i was told i will have to bring it back and leave it for the day so they can fully analyze the problem. >:(

Unbelievable.....the amount of my time and loss of riding i am spending on this problem. I will be calling to book a date in the morning but what bothers me even more is when i have to go to the dealer the night before, get picked up and then dropped off the next day to pick it up again.

Mano,

That's not very good news. Hopefully the new one I'm getting next week won't have the same issue.

Good Luck!
