Got My Tourpack Today UPS Did It In

What would you do, go for a new one or fix this one.  Waited a long time to get this done and Jason did a great job, UPS did it in.  Crack corresponds with crushed end of box,.  Looks like they threw it off the plane or truck.

Hopefully it was insured for enough to cover a new one.  Even repaired, it'll never be as strong as original.

Sucks Big. The older ones were made out of fiberglass and could be fixed, the new ones are abs plastic and cannot be fixed (IMO). Get a new one !!!   Doc

I think your right, UPS is not going to like this at all, I just hope Jason had enough coverage on it.  Right now i am mad that I can't put it on to go to the Ribfest till they come and look at it or they will tell me its useable so live with it.

New one if at all possible. They'll most likely claim it was improper packaging. Hope this works out well for you.

Yep...that's my experience with UPS...  Insurance is only worth anything if they lose your shipment.  Getting $'s out of them for damage is near impossible.   >:(

So sorry to see this happened. I was so looking to see you have this TP too and see it on your bike.  Do what you have to do to make it right even if it means starting all over again. We know you are disappointed but things could always be worse.  Try to smile and remember you can get another.  ;)

I have been through this before when I lived in Ohio, bought a chopped tour pack out of Florida, it arrived with tire marks on the box.  The UPS rep at first tried the old packaging routine but after about 3 weeks of my being up his a$$ they paid.  Money goes to shipper then the shipper has to reimburse the buyer.  This one appears to have been chucked from the airplane that transported it from Illinois to Nashville and landed on the edge of the box. Crack aligns perfect with box damage and it was wrapped in an original tourpack HD wrap, covered in bubble wrap and then surrounded by packing peanuts, nor problem with packing.
