OK guys were down to the final stretch, UPS has agreed to pay, unfortunately insured at only $1,000.  So I found a 2010 Ultra King Orange tourpack and bought it new for $750.00.  Having it shipped to me and from there I will ship to Jason to paint.  In the meantime I will remove the leather tourpack, install the cracked one and run it till Jason completes the new one.  This way I don't have to worry about the time it takes to paint and can get the leather one on E bay and sell it.  I will also have the original Harley shipping box and packing so I should be safe as long as I don't use UPS.

By the way, Johnstons Hot Rod Shop here locally that builds cars and sells them on Barrett Jackson was stone cold impressed with Jason's Paint Job.

Will post pictures once I get the cracked one on the bike.

Glad you were able to get UPS to pony up on the insurance claim. Restores some faith in American business practices.

That's great Chains!  And you found another for a fair price......just be sure to insure it for enough to cover your paint when they ship it to you, after being painted.

Youre right, I about crapped when I found out how low it was insured for, but then again I will come out close when done.

That is why I said check is in the mail, I really don't expect it anytime soon.  I will just go on my merry way and get done what I want and hopefully it will show up some rainy day when I want to buy some chrome.

Got my replacement tourpack today, bottom is perfect, the frickin top is busted in two places.  It was so poorly packed that there is no way in hell I would even attempt to try to collect on it.  So now I start looking for a top, I am half way there now.

I think the Leather Tour Pack Gods are against my going to a painted one.

I am trying seems to not be around today, but hopefully he will be straight up about it and send some cash my way.  It is to the point I am thinking the only way to safely transport is if I do it myself or build a bomb proof container out of 1/4 inch steel

Chains, I'm in pretty good with the local H-D owner here in southern Illinois. I'm pretty sure there is an extra tour pack lid down there that I had given them. If not, I do have a tour pack I use for "parts". If you still want me to paint the new tour pack you've purchased, I'll GIVE you the lid. If that interests you, just get ahold of me. Also, I'll make sure this thing is boxed VERY WELL, so you don't have to go through this again. Let me know.
