Love the bike !!! Really looking forward to bringing in tomorrow for X-pipe and cams.
Has anybody else noticed on there ride when new ? Lifter noise, my 110 has a lot of
lifter noise. Enough so I brought it back to the dealer, I was told it was the 110 w/ syn3
oil is normal. They told me that when they do the motor work they are going to put a heavier
spring in the oil pump.
I have a pair of Fullsac 2.0 inch power cores to be put in at the same time.
I hope the bike will be loud enough.
The stock Screaming Eagle exhaust that came with the bike make it sound just like a Honda.
What a disappointment ! Between the lifter noise which sounds like a bearing that has gone bad and that sissy
Honda sounding exhaust it has been a long 945 miles.
Has anybody had the same experience ??
COM ON TOMORROW, I feel like I have been driving a EPA box around.

I've got the 2" cores and they are plenty loud for my taste.  Loud enough when you get on the throttle, but not too loud when just cruising.  But, I'm 59 and way over loud...tired of my ears ringing at the end of the day.

You posted in the Screamin Eagle Ultra Classic Road Glide board but your avatar photo shows a Screamin Eagle Street Glide.......which do you have?  Not that it makes a difference either way, as far as the 110" goes.

Some of the 110s have made a top end noise from new, but not all.  Most of us are using Amsoil, Redline or some other high quality oil vs. the Syn 3.

Be sure that they check the crank run out before they put cams in.  I think the MoCo has moved the tolerances out to 12/1000ths now.  Way too loose by our expectations.  Mine is in the shop now, getting new crank (and other parts). Three months before my factory warranty expired. :nervous:

Due to EPA regulations, all stock exhaust from all mfgs. leave something to be desired.  I think the majority of us have the Fullsac baffles.  According to Steve, at Fullsac, the 2.0 produce the greatest HP and TQ.  Just loud enough to sound like a Harley yet still hear the stereo at freeway speed. :2vrolijk_21:

Not sure what cams you're going with but here's what many have gone with.......   http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=44545.0

Sorry for posting in the wrong stop. I'm going with the wood 555 cams. As far as oil I have Amsoil a waiting in the shop. Also I went with the Master Tuner. As far as the A/C I just installing a K&N filter in place of the OEM one. I have been told many times to have them check the crank run out. I going to. If it is poor what are the options ?
           Thanks ~Steve

If the spring you are referring to being added is such as LMR spring does bring the OP up but it will not quiet down the noise. I had it in my 110 motor is why I said this. I believe the noise is just something that comes with the 110. Good luck with your upgrades.

It wouldn't have made much difference Stu.....I have the extended warranty.  Personally, I think the extended warranty is very valuable if you have a 110".  Peace of mind if something happens while you own it and you're going to have a hard time selling a 110" without it.  JMHO.

Three months of factory warranty left and the MoCo paid for a complete rebuild.  This time I had the crank pinned, welded and balanced and I'm paying for the timkin bearings.  I should have a very reliable 110" now. :2vrolijk_21:

A noise that I'd not heard before.  Of course they tried to tell me "that's normal on a 110".  I told them "that might be normal on your 110" but I put every mile on this bike, I know what normal is for my bike and this ain't it.  Tear it apart and find out what's wrong with it and get it fixed".

When they pulled the heads and cylinders the rods stayed sticking straight up......they didn't drop back down like they should have.

Good thing you caught it before something big happened and it let you down on the road somewhere...
