I know I get more wind buffeting but I like an unobstructed view of the road.

Curious to see what other riders with windshields prefer...........

We both look over the top but there isn't any buffeting if you have the right type (the kind with the curved lip at the top) and right height.

Nose high and no more. I can't stand when I rent a bike and it's got the full length windshield. That's why I'll normally try to get a Street Glide.

I gotta say, I just got a 9-1/2" Clearview Smoked Recurve, and this thing is awesome! Nice deal too!

Jerry M/D,I noticed that a lot of people on the site have changed out their stock windshield. I could see that on a  Road Glide, but just for the record I am fine with the stock windshield on my 09 SEUC. After being caught in the middle of nowhere(Blanding, Utah) in a rain storm with some moderate hail I use a visor on my helmet, so on occassion I will be looking thru my glasses, visor, and windshield which is a pain, but provides a lot of protection.CAHDBIKER

Over the windshield. I run with the short Klock Werks on my SERG. IMO that is the reason to be on a Bike, to be in the wind !!!! :coolblue:

Put one of those 2" windshields on your SERG.......you'll be "in the wind". :huepfenlol2:

Prefer over as well.  First real time out with the stock shield on the Limited, ran into fog.  Shield fogged up and I could not see through it.  Take a turn, wipe the shield with my hand, memorize all the potholes, and go into another turn blind.

First thing I did when I got back was replace the shield.

Had the stock 12", now have a windvest 8".  Eye line is about 1.5 inches over the top.

While the 12 was nice with no wind or buffetting, only get a bit more wind with the 8.  Only time I get buffeting is when there is a good cross wind comming from the front of around 45 deg. Or so, and at about 20 mph or greater.

Over is best but just an inch or two is the key... Took me a lot of trial and error but for my height (long torso)  16" Cee Bailey is perfect.

Over.....6" SG is a bit low...stock EG is too high....looking at getting a Longride windshield....got a bit more measuring and trial and error to do before ordering...but am thinking 7 or 8" with the flip.

Any motorcycle safety material you read will tell you that you should always be able to look over the windshield.  The trick is getting the shield high enough for protection, but low enough to see over in a normal riding position.  Most stuff that tells you how to measure will tell you to have the top of the shield about nose height...this lets you see about 100' ahead without obstruction.

My CVO is the FatBob so there is no windshield. Full frontal blast. :P

I ride with the stock shield on the Road Kind Classic and look just over. Flow dynamics of moving air allows for the head to be just above the top edge of the shield with the wind deflecting up and over.

I would tell anyone that says they can not stand any wind that motorcycling may not be for them.
