Terry, I hope you heal fast!  Time to think of some new projects for the bike.

Sorry to hear Terry. Get one of those little bells to ring for quicker service

That would go over about as well as the idea of riding with the bootie on.... ;)  Good idear though, at least in theory...

Terry, you know I love ya man and my only goal is to help.  I know you'll hate it that the bike has to miss the early summer season.  So if you want I'll take the bus down this weekend and ride it home to keep it appropriately exercised for a couple months.  Wouldn't do it if I didn't care....  :2vrolijk_21:

Though I appreciate that magnanimous offer Don, I don't think Toby would allow that to happen...he's a watch bird, you know...

Terry, I feel you pain (literally) as I've broken my feet (4 times) in the same area.  You'll get good with the crutches and you're right about the HOT weather riding right now, but, just quit wearing those flip flops and start trying to act your age, man.     (Use this time to watch TwoLane's latest red bike build pictorial, Jock's coast to coast ride captain's log, speculate on the 2012 bike colors/options, and generally be miserable while others are able to ride those great and cool mountain roads)  Teach Toby the killer bird some manners and try not to get overly 'grumpy' while being handicapped in this temporally manner.  Just natures way of trying to slow you  down...I know it won't work very well with you, but.....keep your positive 'tude and you'll be fine.   Just think how soon MV will be upon us.   :2vrolijk_21: har.  spyder

Act my age?  Never, Spydy...that's no fun  ;)  I'm sure I'll be on here living vicariously through others for the next few weeks, and I'll try to stay out of trouble.  I was hoping to escape to the mountains next month to show Judi around, and escape this heat here in B'ham, so I'm going to do what the doctor ordered and get this thing over with as quickly as possible.  Perhaps there is a positive correlation between beer consumption and bone healing?  I'm in competition with Toby these days...he tells Judi "I Love You" several times a day... :huepfenlol2:  Your right, MV is just around the corner, so we've both got to get well for that.... :2vrolijk_21:

Yea, Charlie....Judi is a gem, and a good nurse.  Now, if I could just get her the little outfit... 8)

Foot is feeling better, Spydy.  I've been keeping it elevated as much as possible.  Fortunately, they put me in one of those boot things which is removeable, so I can shower without any problems...as long as I put most of my weight on my left (good) foot, and balance on my right (injured foot's) heel.

Pics are for my eyes only  ;)

BTW...how are you feeling these days?  Still much pain?  Equally important, are you going to be able to salvage enough off the old bike to put it back like you had it before?

That's what I'm talkin' about (private nurse) !!!   :-*  Naaaw, not much better and today is 4 weeks!  But, the doc said it would be 6 to 8 weeks, so evidently they must have seen this before.....frustrating, just gotta remind myself how much worse it could have been (missing limbs, spinal injury, etc,etc)....I'm just to old to be tuckng & rolling like I use to in these situations....to 'brittle' these days.  I still haven't been able to move about and get down to see my beloved Huckleberry, but I'm trying to get adjuster to move on the deal so I can start assembling 'parts' for the rebuild.  Trying to keep from having a 'salvage' title right now and it's hard dealing with this stuff while under the influence, if ya know what I mean.  I thought about letting that scoot go and getting a krypto (I really like that bike), but I have trouble letting go of 'stuff', esp. if it wasn't the scooter's fault.  ;D har.  spyder

That sucks Terry, hope it mends soon so you can ride. I didn't break my foot, but once I had taken a day off to install a new screen/storm door on the house. I went into the garage and stepped on the side of one of those really thick coco mats and rolled my ankle over real far, jumped off that ankle and stepped on the other edge with my other foot and rolled that ankle too!. Ended up with two sprained ankles, one was a lot worse than the other. But I was determined to get the door in, so I didn't sit down, just started working. My friend came over later and was laughing his Ass off when he saw me hobbling around trying to get the door in.

Spydy...sorry to hear you aren't feeling up to par yet, but those ribs take a while from what I've heard.  And it could have been a lot worse, like you said.

I know you hate to let the B/B bike go, but I must say that seeing Travis' Krypto at Ribfest was a treat.  That color really pops and is an eye catcher.  If you're going to end up going through a bunch of trouble on a bike that may never really be quite the same, it might be worth another think.  Just getting the new frame design is worth considering the change.

Keep your head screwed on straight, get well, and be careful with those meds...we're both too old to get strung out.

I want to see you in MV, either on a new scoot, or on the B/B all fixed up good as new.

Thanks, Craig...I've only had two broken bones in my life, with this being one of them, and the other my left wrist.  Injuries to the feet have to be one of the worst...you can't do much if you can't walk around!  I'll be good as new by mid July.

I play in an APA Pool League, and was able to hobble around last night well enough to shoot...the three Blue Moons might have helped some too, cause it actually feels better today.  Maybe Blue Moon beer has some kind of healing power  ;D :drink: :drink:

I'm going to get out your way, hopefully next year if everything keeps going well for me and the new bride.

No way, Jose   :nervous:  She's having to drive me around in the car now, and that makes me a nervous wreck, so there ain't no way I could stand it on the back of the bike.  With a guy?  Fugetaboutit... ???
