Hi, I put my oil temp gage on last night, But when I switched on the ignition the gage light did not light up. I wired the gage as per the instructions said.

Just an FYI for future reference, nobody should wire this stupid gauge as per the supplied instructions.

Power and ground already exist for the original gauge.  Just use them.  Make a little pigtail with the eyelets supplied for the gauge at one end and spade terminal at the other.  Plug that in to the original gauge socket.

The original sender lead won't get used agian.  Neither will the original bulb socket (though it could if you took out the new socket and used the origianl).  The only wire that really needs to be strung all the way to gauge is the line from the sending unit.  It will come forward as a pair (signal and ground).  Signal wire all the way to gauge.  Let the ground stop at the battery or any other convenient place in route.

I know, it's all been covered before.  But you never know which thread will happen to be "last thread" some poor schmuck saw before tearing his bike apart.

Help.  I am trying to find the thread discussing the installation of the oil temp sending unit at the pan (in lieu of the oil cooler line) http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1145447973.  Since the changeover of the web address for this board, I can't figure out how to get to it.

If no longer available, are there any pics or good instructions of how to do it and what parts are needed?

Thanks for the help.
