From Anne July 26th:
EUREKA ! ANCHORAGE ! (we actually rode through a town with that name today. WOW, I just finished coming in from taking more spooky, just before the sun sets photos! SPOOKY!! The riding remains difficult-being led for miles behind a "pilot" car or just maneuvering between major pot-holes and roads made of gravel=bugs & dirt make a paste on the bike and on us with the addition of rain that has fallen for a good part of the day. NO WHINING here-as we wind up and down we see oozing glaciers, blue in color that have stood for zillions of years just waiting for us to admire. OH, our first MRS. MOOSE-standing right there in the road. How cool is that! Tomorrow takes us glacier jumping and to the coast to a town called SEWARD(pronounced"Stuart" with out the "T" along the KENAI PENINSULA. Maybe a salmon lunch on one of its piers. Laundry done, time to rest-HAPPY TRAILS TO ALL and to all a good night.......special note to KEN (Chris's Dad) The guy at the front desk was also stationed at FORT RICHARDSON and we are searching hard for the 1042 CLUB. outa here, Annie
