We would like to thank all of you who joined us for our little ride to Alaska and also a big
THANK YOU
to Dave (Wrongway) for taking the time to share it with you.
It was truely an amazing adventure! The only thing that could have made it any better would be to have Roger and Mel there with us!!!
28 days... 8500 miles... and yes, as you have seen me snoozing in more than one of Annes photos, a physically demanding ride.
Some are questioning our choice of motorcycles for our trip. Originally we were going to ride the Dalton Hwy from Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay. That part of the ride we will save to do with Roger and Mel. This is 500 miles of dirt/gravel/pothole road and thats one way! Riding two up and carring all our gear, including camping gear is alot of added weight. So the question came down to do I want to take my $35,000 bike and trash it on this road and take the risk of having it washout from under me with my kids mother on the back? Granted, it could happen on any bike, but we were fortunate enough to have the choice between the two bikes. We also rode the Denali and Top of the World Hwys which are 80 miles and 60 miles of unpaved roads and that we would not have done if we were on the Harley.
Thanks again for joining us and please post or pm us if you have any questions about the trip!
