Someone is going to have to really love that Softail convertible to justify it's price point.  Less than $3k difference between it and some of the touring models.  An almost thirty thousand dollar little Softail.  That's.... well....  that's a challenging price point.

Not to mention, I would think that anyone that really loves them already has one.  Of course the same could be said for Ultras, Street Glides, and Road Glides which have been offered several years in a row now.

Yeah....  That refreshing two year cycle to keep the interest whetted for new models gave way relatively quickly to a lack of commercial bravery the commercial common sense necessary to sell just the models they know beforehand they can get that price out of.

Btw, these new models (RGs) will look pretty silly with the add-on tourpaks unless folks put on chopped paks but those won't fit the bill for hauling chit around the country.

DH

Not sure why you think they would look any different than how the '09 cvo's looked when all the folks put tourpaks on them.  I think they will look just fine with a full size tourpak.  Same would hold true for the street glides in my opinion as well.  Now the added cost would bite but hey I did that on my '09 so been down that road before.

This is real tempting:

Perfect color. Glad I just had to buy another vehicle or I'd trading the '07 on this.

Well, I say this because I think the whole approach on this year's crop of CVO RG is to go for the more bad azz/vicious look with the black out, skulls, and all. Especially on the Maple/Black, it will take away from that theme. Maybe on the Skunk or Blue Ball is might work but again for "look" I think the chop pak can be considered.

Of course you can always run naked around the city and then throw a detachable king pak on for the road. Who cares if your styling when your touring (lol).

Looks like the MOCO took some pointers from my custom orange/black design. Wheres my kickback Harley  ;D
The orange inner fairing is way too much IMO but i'm sure a lot of people will like it.

I kinda like what I see.  The O/B ultra looks the best to me.  I'm looking forward to seeing them on the showroom floors.  Maybe they can get the R/G steering neck bearing adjustments right and not have buyers riding out
and wobbling down the road.  That sure would be nice   :nixweiss:
