DW...There are a lot of good units out there, depending on what you're going to do with it. I hike, fish, ski, etc, so wanted a unit that was completely portable, yet would work on the bike and in the car too. The one I got will run off Nickle H batteries (rechargeable) AA, or of course, Alkaline (they won't last as long). It takes two. You can get removeable chips up to 512MB. It doesn't talk to you, but beeps at you when you are approaching turns, and when you need to make the turn. And like I said, it's completely waterproof, so you can take it on a boat without fear of dropping it overboard. It won't fit in your pocket, though maybe if you wear cargo pants, or typical outdoor type jackets. Couldn't be happier with this unit for my needs...a lot of the guys on here are using the 27XX series and are liking them as well. I got the Deluxe case with mine from the on-line store mentioned above...will hold the unit, plus extra batteries, chips, etc., and comes with a shoulder strap, or you can put it on your belt, pack, etc. I also purchased the V7 of the City Navigator, Topo of the Eastern US...if you get the City Navigator "Kit", it comes with the CD, cigarette lighter power cord, a couple of different holders for use in the car. Whatever you choose, GPSonsale is by far the cheapest price I found for any Garmin products, and had no problem with customer service. One warning: Make sure you choose fastest route on the unit instead of shortest route....big difference in how it wants you to get where you're going. Have fun shopping!!
