Hi Jerry,

I will see with funds, and may get in contact with the dealer.

Did you also change the wirirng loom kit?
Where did you get the rear fender with lights on the side, that's real cool, (is it what you call the facsia?)

The full list of p/n is appreciated.

Will defenitley keep in touch.

Thx again,

Stu

Hi Jerry,

Forget questions regarding rear fender fascia, I found the info;  it's the OEM SG rear set-up, I'll ask an HD dealer!

Is the guy at Arrowlane an HD dealer?

Thx,

Stu

Have you considered putting a streetglide seat on it?

There were some on e-bay yesterday for less than 100 bucks shipped.  I have been thinking about it for my bike.  I don't like the look of the ultra seat on mine when the tourpack is off.

Beautiful bike man!

Hi Kerb,

I do have one off of a 2010 SESG, and I agree with you. I put it on when I have the tour pack off.
I have also been thinking about getting a solo seat as well.

Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Sammy,

I'm going to do the tp detach kit too since I don't trust the dealership to do it without scratching the paint.  I have a nice set of Panacea tail lights I'm going to leave on for now.  When you take off the tp and mounting bar what options are there for the license plate bracket?

I assume the tp kit included the 4 point hardware for the tp and the fender strut too, plus adapters for the wiring to make it easy to detach/attach the tp?

ALso can you leave the amp mounted under the tp?  I use an mp3 player wired into my helmet and never use the bike system unless my wife is on it (tp installed).

You used the HD Granite paint on the headbolt bridge right?  Too humid to paint mine today.

Thanks.

Hi Stu,
Chris from Arrowlane is not a HD dealer. You do not have to get a new fender, but you do have to drill 3 holes on each side of it to mount the fascia to it. I think I had read that someone on this site used Velcro to attach the fascia so he did not have to drill his fender?
A member on here called blue goose gave me the inspiration to do this after I saw he had done this to his bike.  You should be able to find his pictures under 2010 FLHTCUSE5 Rip Tide Blue modifications, if you care to look. He did a very good job.
I changed out the rear tail light with the Paul Yaffe stealth 3 license plate frame. Did not have to drill holes for this.

The part numbers you asked for are.

Tour-pack detach kit   53246-09A
6 pcs-3152 screw
2 pcs-59818-09 Stud plate assy
1 pc-60465-09 Fascia, RR fender
2 pcs-60919-09 Stiffening plate
1 pc-69383-09 Envelope assy, LH/smoked lens
1 pc-69407-09 Envelope assy ,RH
1 pc-70338-09 Wire harness
6 pcs-7499 Nut,flange
Please let me know if I can help you any further.

The detachable tp kit comes with a license plate holder.  I used it when I detached mine.  Just temporary though until I can relocate the plate under the left bag (I have a 2:1 pipe).

Leaving the amp under the tp would work.  Except you won't have sound through any speakers (front or rear) with it unhooked.  You are all set for music it sounds like, but you may want sound through the front speakers when you have the GPS mounted.

I ended up doing away with the amp entirely and replacing it with a 300W Rockford Fosgate.  If you do that, you will want to replace your speakers also, as the ones that come stock are 2 ohm.

Hi Jerry, and thx for your precious help.

I sent a mail to Chris@Arrowlane to ask him to quote the list of parts, includng the fascia painted to Black Ember-Rio Red.

Just a last  question:

Does the std TP kit allow to relocate further back, or did you need anyhting else?

Thx again for this, (looks like I've found my winter project for this year:))

Hi Sledge,

I used the same one as Kerb for a short time. If you have the 2012 HD Genuine motor parts catalog you can see it on page367 item c.
I do not know what other options are available maybe some of the other members may be able to offer some advice.
The kit does include the strut covers and 4 point docking hardware. It did not have all the adapters needed for the wiring.
Yes the head bolt bridges were painted with HD granite paint.

Hi Stu,
You are welcome, and I am glad to be able to help.
The standard tour pack detachable kit does not allow you to move the tour pack back.
There are different tour pack relocating kits available.  You may want to look around to find the one that best suits your needs.

The one I used was from www.sargentcycle.com

Nice Mods. Time for a solo seat... :2vrolijk_21:

My thoughts exactly!!! Awesome mods, just need to do something with that thick passenger seat. Thought a solo seat would look real cool! :2vrolijk_21:

How hard was it to install the rear fender extention? Did you have to drill holes in your fender?  What about the wiring?

   Looks very nice!!!

Thank you. I did not find any of it difficult to install, and I did drill three holes on each side of the fender
to mount the fascia to it.

Just take your time laying it out and center punch the holes in the fender. You may want to have someone help by holding a 2x4 on the inside of the fender when you center punch and drill it.

I changed out the rear tail light with the Paul Yaffe stealth 3 license plate frame. I did not have to drill holes to mount this. I did go to the local HD to buy a couple of wiring connectors to complete the wiring.
Hope this helps.
