Sounds like a "need" for me! How many shop labor hours would you expect?
Took me about 6-7 hours the first time on Buster, and about 5 hours the second time on a friend's bike. Don't rush through if you do it yourself... the biggest time vampires are getting the old bars off, taking out all of the pins from the various wire bundles, and of course fishing the wire bundles and throttle wires into the Chubbys and putting the pins back into the propers places in the connectors. I have no idea what a shop would estimate for doing the install. Nobody but me ever
touches Buster unless it's for a warranty issue like the rear brake switch recall was... and they didn't even power bleed the rear brake line they were supposed to...
DO NOT use anything like WD-40 as a lubricant when pulling the wires into the Chubbys... it has kerosene in it, and it will attack and soften the wire insulation over time, potentially causing a short circuit down the road. I used some vegetable oil... it made pulling the wire bundles through the bars
much easier, and it won't attack the insulation. Of course, your bike may smell like popcorn for awhile!
70t specs don't go up to a 110. But no issues huh?
No issues... The 70T will work just fine, unless you have a monster motor pulling 130+ HP. The VPC locks up the clutch solidly as the weights swing out more and more.
Also, did you use the stock spring?
Yep... sure did. I don't need it any stronger than stock... yet!
