Had a friend who coined the phrase "I've RUINT my bike"  after dropping a can of enamel paint that the splattered all over his V-Twin.....he was finding paint spots way later after he thought he'd found them all.  ;D spyder

Thanks Sledge, that's surely the correct way to spell it.  Makes me smile just to remember my friend's statement after his disaster.  spyder

One cold day last winter I decided to master the navigation system on my 09 SEUC, I turned on some tunes and pulled a lawn chair up to the bike and started to familiarize myself with the system. After a while I felt I was doing well enough to reward myself with a cool one, when I pulled my lawn chair back to head to the fridge the metal arm on it put a big gouge in the lid of the left saddle bag. I had always been told the navigation system was piece of crap and not worth using, now I'm sure. My truck was going into the body shop a few days later for some major work so they painted the lid for free, note that I also bought a Garmin GPS and installed it the next week.

X2

Put the key/fob in a cabinet next to where I park Ziggy. Started the bike and rode to the gas station, turned off the bike to pump gas. I went to start the bike and had no key  >:(. Paula was not happy at 3:30 am to come bring me a key  :nixweiss:.

 Marty

I have done that! Set my fob on the ping pong table next to the bike. Started it and left. You know the rest.......that was before I knew I could start it with the code.......

I'm going to have the fob implanted in my belly fat.

Is it April 1 yet?

Bounced my right fairing off the garage wall wheil parked in tight quarters-not so bad.  Dropped a screwdriver on my wife's saddlebag lid-I hear about it every time we go for a ride

I will never forget, I was twenty something and finally got my first bigtwin, a shovel head wide glide, had a Super E carb on it with a big philips head screw in the middle. I was to lazy to walk across the garage for a philips head screw driver but had a flat head right there with me. So I attempted to loosen the screw, slipped right out and into the side of the tank, put a gash right across the tank right through the decal under the clear coat. I just stood there for a while looking in disbelief.
Just thinking about it in order to type this post brings back memories of disbelief. Dam I hate that feeling.....

So give us the details so we can make sure we aren't alone here in Doh! moments.

Trying out my new winch in the trailer I wrapped the fender with towels because the cable might hit it.
What I though was the cable just resting on the fender was a bit more then "just resting".

Fortunately for me, I was soon to do even more damage to the fender

First trip out with the new toy hauler. Late pulling in. While getting set up my dog starts barking, my wife starts screaming I jumped and I dropped the ladder that accesses the roof -  on the front fender.
I start ranting - she wants to know what the big deal is - I still rant about a $900 plus fender  >:(

I ordered a new custom fender, plans are to repaint it slightly different.

2 days after ordering the $280 non returnable fender I scored a fender on eBay for $80. Needs a buffing at the body shop, $20.

Down in Carolina camping on the Outer Banks two years ago. Very windy.
Had the bike covered up at night. The wind blew so hard that it burnished the corners of the saddlebag, tops & bottoms at the corners (see the black corner).
I tried buffing oit out. It seems to lighten up a bit and then after a few weeks it is black.

Fortunately for me I was to damage the saddlebag even more!

Myself and LTBawb on the site here run a memorial ride here. I end up using my utility trailer to haul a lot of "event stuff" to and from. I was in the middle of unloading everything when I get the "I'm on the highway with a problem with my bike call".

Turns out to be just an exhaust system O2 bung plug that fell out. Just happen to have one so I'm on the bike to do road service.
When I came back I parked the bike next to the trailer opened the door and let it swing right into the saddle bag.
Saddlebag lower $800+
