Wow my iPod quit working at 277 miles. They have replaced the head unit and now have ordered a new iPod interface trying to figure out the problem. Meanwhile I haven't had my iPod up and running for over a month now while waiting for parts. I would be willing to bet I have the same problem. In the morning I will take off my bags to seeSo after reading this I can't sleep so at 1:00 am I'm out taking off the right bag and sure enough I find that my wiring harness looks exactly like the picture you posted. So now I'm completely irritated
First basic rule in troubleshooting LOOK AT ALL COMPONENTS FOR AN OBVIOUS PROBLEM
Just goes to show you how even trained techs can overlook a simple problem because of overthinking!!!!! Most likely there is or soon will be a service bulletin out warning service managers and techs to inspect units for this problem when they are in for any service. Your bike will be repaired under warranty, BUT HD warranty will not pay the dealer any parts or labor for work completed on your bike prior to the harness issue. Its a big big mistake by the tech and I bet there will be some ass chewin because of it.
Lots of left bags will be removed today and eyeballs will be on the Ipod harness!!
Thanks for the heads up Delaney
