We went down the street to another area where the lumberjack competition was about to start. Everything from ax throwing, choke cable setting, gentlemen's sawing contest, suspension walking, team cutting, etc. etc. I was surprised at how many women entered the competition and were really good at it. Due to rapid fire, I was able to catch this lady in action and she hit the bulls eye dead center!

some weren't so lucky....

Jon, Susan and Kayla had front row seats

The gentlemen's saw competition.....this was the winner at 14.7 seconds...

Everybody was getting anxious to go ride the area so we didn't stay for the rest of it.....we bailed. Here's a shot half way back up the hill where we were parked and where the soap box derby races were held early that morning...

We rode over to the Pioneer Resort Lodge and got checked in to our rooms and rode on up Hwy. 88 to Cook's Station....an old Pony Express stop, stage stop, bordello, hotel and saloon from the 1800's. We also left messages for the two ghosts that supposedly haunt the place. By the way, to our surprise, the meals were all really great!

Jay and Ron drove up and ate with us and Marty (110 mofo aka 10 Beers) rode down from Reno and we all had dinner....

All of us headed back to the hotel and sit out by the pool and told stories......some were true and some we just made up as we went along.....great time, great company, very relaxing and off to bed.
This morning Terrie headed for home and I rode south on Hwy. 49 with Marty.

Marty rollin.....

Marty and I split up in Oakdale......he headed to So Cal and I was headed back home. On a two lane road out in the middle of nowhere I noticed a CHP come around the bend and ...............well..........he wanted to have a chat so he flipped a u-turn and ...........well, it started out a great weekend.
