I am in a high volume market for bikes, here in Los Angeles. The bad guys are plentiful, the good guys asleep. I have two rides as many others on this site. When I need to go away for a day, a week, whatever; I always get panic stricken and padlock the garage, cable lock both bikes: together and seperately to the ground, attach the "Bulldog disc brake locks", set the bike alarms (both) and the garage alarm. I am not paranoid, I am used to it by now.
I remember the days when we bikers were the bad guys, now only to be reduced to the status of potential "Victim".
So after 20 minutes of security, and facing the 5 D's of "they wont steal my ride" (denial, denial, denial, denial, denial) I am finally able to take off.
LoJack is an "apre-sale", aftermarket closer sale and yet it has no chrome. What do I need that for?
The real deterrent is the sign outside the garage that states: Protected by Smith and Wesson. Acutally, mines a Barretta .9, but ya all get my drift.
