You are correct, we cannot lane split here in Ohio but I am considering getting off on the shoulder of the road and if there is an exit near,  I will ride the shoulder until I can exit.  It doesn't matter how defensively we ride there is not much you can do when someone hit's you from behind.

Thank you everyone for your encouraging words concerning my recent mc accident.  I do miss my beloved SG and my dealer just got it shipped up here the 300 miles from a dealer that had it in storage waiting on the insurance company to get their act together.  I saw it today for the first time since the wreck.  It broke my heart.  The impact from behind was so traumatic that it rolled the fender under causing the bolt holding the seat down to snap in half.  When I was ejected 20 ft, my seat took the airborne trip with me....now I know why.  As I was thrown forward my thigh hit the handlebar so hard that it bent it down 6".  I will so miss her and thank her so much for protecting me, and yes I will learn to love my new CVO SG, but I will never forget my best friend.  RIP Ruby  :sweatdrop:

What a story! I wish you a speedy recovery, and I really admire you for buying another bike so soon, even though you can't even ride it yet. That's an AWESOME attitude! And it's true that sometimes there isn't anything you can do about other people not paying attention on the road.  We've all had close calls... I'm lucky so far that I've escaped being injured. So far... So far...

You will LUV your new FLHXSE3! What color did you get? Let me guess...Ruby Red?
