Ah, but what is the shape of the curve? How do you calibrate a dyno to give higher results?

Exactly.
I suppose the shape of the curve would be indicative to the style of the rider.

If a rider derives their pleasure from 0-40 MPH then a more restrictive mufflers would work for them. However, if a rider's pleasure is developed while riding the motorcycle down the road then I contend a free flowing muffler fits that mark.

These 110 CVO's with the 255 cams have more than enough torgue to go from 0-40 MPH. I personally enjoy riding down the road and not from stop sign to stop sign.

Again, no exhaust system in the world is going to gain significant performance advantages over another on a STOCK motor. If you want to compare exhaust systems advantages and disadvantages then high compression pistons, performance cams and head work would need to be added to the equation for a real dialog on the subject.

As you say Willy

I am more concerned with the sound level than any performance enhancement.
And the Monster Rounds IMO fit that deep sound requirement.

Ride safe all.

Not sure I'd put money on that. I recall Doc saying the hi outputs are good for about a 10 hp loss- too wide open apparently.

I visited Doc during Biketoberfest.  First thing he told me was loose the Hi Outputs, you will pick up low end Torque, those mufflers do not have enough restriction.  I love the sound of my Hi Outputs.  He pretty much convinced me if I want to get more power out of my bike, or really my soon to be delivered bike he recommended mufflers with 2 inch baffles.  He told me I would make more power with the stock mufflers with fullsac 2 inch baffles.  Sad thing is that is what was on my bike until March of this year.

Don't know about the hp loss have not had it on a dyno just seat of the pants, with the hi-outputs it seems its not as quick off the line or low end, but from 40/50 mph up it seems to be a lot stronger, quickier  :nixweiss:, Don't get me wrong i'm not complaining it gets me down the road as fast i want to, I'm more into the look and sound and these HI-OUTPUT's are dead on.  :2vrolijk_21:

I did notice a loss of low end pulling power when I went from the fullsac 2inch baffle to the Hi Output, but the sounds is so good.

I had V&H True Duals Big Shots before i installed the HI-OUTPUTS, smaller dia pipe from front to back with these pipes the bike was a lot quickier off the loine and had all kinds of low end TQ, so be it, i like the sound and looks of the HI-OUTPUT a whole lot better and if its lost 10 hp, Oh well CHIT happens.

Peter, The Hi-Outputs are pretty loud so you probably made a good choice for long rides. I'm a little torn. I absolutely love the sound Hi-Outputs when I'm really on it but like I said they can be a bit loud at cruise around speeds.
