I know the feeling. We bought a lake house in 2008. Sold the motorhome, three 4 wheelers, the goldwing, and a few other odds and ends, but I kept the HD. The lake house has been great. The bike has been pushed to the back burner a lot over the last few years, but each weekend that we don't go to the lake, out comes the bike. Even if it's not used that much, I know it's there. Never considered selling it.

I don't have much of a problem selling bikes but I always have a replacement before i do. Don't think I could ever go without having one.

Local dealer has had a Skunk unsold sitting on the showroom floor for over a month now.  I have a buddy that plans on buying a RG ultra , we plan on going to the dealer and see what we can do?  I'm guessing they will consider dealing considering were buying 2 bikes in November in Michigan?  This will be my 4th bike from them.  If they make me a deal I can't refuse, I may have a new bike tomorrow???

Good luck on the "Skunk". I thought long and hard about your bike when you posted it for sale, that is one of my favorite models. Another place in time and I would be thanking you instead of encouraging you. Got to love the lake house though, especially if you have kids. We had a blast in ours years ago, that is one thing I wish I had never sold but it too can be replaced. The time with the kids there was priceless though.

There is never a logical reason for selling your buke when you get to this level of "Wow factor/CVO", Sounds like you just needed to talk about it, Shame is, off all the EG CVO's the 2010 Black one, IS the one to have, I regret taking the 2011 model, and you just paterd with yours, man, that must hurt!

Happing hunting, but look the truth in the face, the only thing you can do, is get the same bike back, and ride it even if it is a couple of 100 miles a year!

When i put it up for sale, i did get a lot of messages and it sold it two days for a very good price too considering everything I had done.  It had 8,000 miles on it, and even though it was black, there was not a single road chip or scratch on that bike.  The guy that bought it jumped on it and he got the buy of a life time.  I always thought that the 2009 SERG was the best bike HD ever made until they produced the Crimson Mist/Slate CVO Ultra.  Another thing that makes me sick is that I probably could have gotten damn near retail for that bike the way it sat (that's the retail side of me coming out).

maybe I'll feel better when i start writing the contractor checks.  we start the remodeling of the lake house as soon as the permit comes back from the township.

I always have at least one bike in the stable. Add a bike as I'm selling a bike. It's in my blood and my wife and risks of injury won't ever get it out.

Bought my first bike in '86 and still have it in storage. Still riding my '95 FLSTF and now have the FLTRUSE.  I figure that if I ever get caught short for cash, I'll consider selling a kidney first, get by on the other one, and keep on riding.

Been biking since I was  6 or so, Moto X, then a bit of road racing, always a set of  wheels in the garage, first japanese, then European, now a Triumph and the CVO, cannot imagaine life without one!
