Helloooooo from Down Under,

2011.5 FLHTCUSE6 BIG BLUE has over 6500 kms in 15 weeks..  Mods include;
Full Cat Gut,
Monster Ovals,
Chromed Led Tail light,
License plate mounted over,
Windshield trim bar in LEDs with ends as indicators,
Chrome dash accents,
Klockwerks winds 8.5 wind splitter,
small ding in tank fumblefingered helmet job  :-\
LED Headlight and Passing Lights,
Modded black painted steel wheel weights so no dinged front fender,
Black leather tool bags and drink carrier on Bag Guard rail,
Round hoods over headlights,
Matched cylinder locks fold down glove box covers...

So what more is there to do, when it is already the FLASHEST CVO in Australia...?   I mean the little Kid in me wants the following:
Blue Neon Leds under tank to illuminate the chrome at night...
Full engine/transmission/primary chrome bolts sets
Full real inner primary all chromed up...
Flamed oval horn cover or something similar,
Leds on rear box (taken off for Australia and only chrome strip in place on the lower sides of top box)
What esle is worth doing?

Or is this all just wasted "Monkey Spank"   :jester:  Just ridiculous when it is already the flashest CVO around???  Regards to all from Australia

Cowboy2,

Big Blue looks fantastic! It's too bad we are so far away. It would be great to get Big Red & Big Blue together for a ride!

Hey Cowboy,
If you "finished " the mods that are pleasing to your eyes, start doing them that affect you in a diffrent way. Upgrade the suspension, sound system, seating choices, etc.

I'm still in that phase of upgrading things that arent seen, but is more comfy on the ride and looks good also.

Nice mods so far
See Ya, Paul

Cowboy
I will give you 4 of the cheapest best looking mods that blue really needs.
Dental floss and remove those cheap ugly reflectors.  It will give big blue a whole new smile and you too.
Enjoy

Agree with guppytrash, lose the reflectors! Your mods to date are great, do the ones you have planned as well. It's your bike, continue to make it yours. A nice custom seat is always a real eye catcher. You could have some blue flame gator skin inserts done to make it pop. You also might want to consider one of the Motorcycle Armour Kits for your bag lids and fairing. Rock chips & heel scuffs are headed your way and they can be prevented.

Other than that, the words Traxion Dynamics comes to mind...

Shameless plug for a friend of mine:

A custom lettered shift linkage from http://www.glasshousebikersales.com/
Powdercoated cobalt blue maybe.  You could have it say "Awesome Big Blue" or "Cowboy" or something.
He's gearing up to make derby covers, too.  Not on the site yet though.  He'll be able to cnc pretty much any design you want on it.

You might consider some floorboard extenders.  A set of those are going on mine in the not distant future.

Maybe you'd like a shift linkage like mine (the one in red). You could easily do the same shift linkage in matching blue. http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=22634.540

Cowboy,

You have made it pretty; now make it go.  I waited nearly 3 years to upgrade my suspension and could kick myself!  I should have done that first.  Progresssive Monotube front and Suspension Technologies rear.  Since you have gutted your cat and upgraded your exhaust, you might want a tuner and cams....

The biggest difference you can make to an FL bike, no matter which model, is suspension upgrades.  You can't see 'em, but once you do it you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.  It's like the difference in a 68 Buick and a 2011 luxury touring car.  People amaze me in the fact that they think nothing of putting 5K in motor upgrades, but don't want to spend 2K on making the bike a pleasure to drive.

Wow Guys, thank you for all the suggestions...  It is really great!!!

On a few things: The reflectors are going, gone, that picture is old...  Actually the windscreen show in the HD 7" and I now have the Klockwerks 8.5 which I think lowers the wind buffet and noise..

On the horn cover, found that, on chromedome.com but was stuck between the ball of fire one and the flaming skull one looked cool but might not look good in front of the Churches I go to..    :nixweiss:

On the 120R motor, you know it Guppytrash, I was thinking about it, but this 110 motor is a FREAK..  It is like a factory balanced motor, happy around town at 1800-2000 revs cruising like an Old School thumper in noise, and happy shifting up in the 4000+ range, all smooth as silk!!!  Not only that but I am getting just about the highest fuel economy on record with the smoothest engine I have ever had, at about 450 kms a tank on the hiway at speed limit if I want to stretch the tank...  That is over 280 miles per tank your way...  GuppyTrash, you HATE to crack or mod or store a motor this FREAKY GOOD!!!   Also, with the 110, BIG BLUE is already about the fast HD on the average run...  Lastly we have not gotten the tune right yet, on another Brother that has the 120R in an Ultra, still some teething problems for a cruiser...

Now on your suspension comments, I just don't get it...  :nixweiss: :'(  She is already the best I have ever ridden, and I like the variable air suspension at around 30 psi solo and 50 two up, something like that...  Honestly, she hangs in the corners faster than I want to go on these little country roads here in Oz, I don't want to go faster, as just around the bend will be a big pig or roo or dump of gravel or cow on the road..  :o   Sorry Guys, maybe it is because I ride solo almost all the time, but I really like the stock suspension and front end, CAN'T FAULT IT SO FAR...   :2vrolijk_21: :coolblue:

Come on down, beer is on me!!!!  Best regards from Australia,

THINKING ABOUT SHIPPING HER TO L.A. to run the Colorado Rockies north and do STURGIS 2012!!!!

If your motor pops....don't waste money on a 120. I'm late with my suggestions.......Eagle horn cover, SE shift linkage make it really stand out from the crowd. $200 is a bit to spend for a linkage, but it is worth. Puzzled is making a new order as we speak, contact him if you like it. And I must agree with others...........LOSE THOSE DAMN REFECTORS. Anyone that thinks they make your ride safer is sadly mistaken.........Big Blue is a reflector itself. Love most of your mods, don't like some. We are all different in one way or another.

GREAT LOOKING SCOOT!!!!

finned headbolt bridge, silver, painted with HD Granite paint (rattlecan)

You got visor style bezels right?

Sweet bike in blue, mine's Rio/Ember.

NExt item for me is tp detach kit and figure out a way to put on a curved license plate frame under the tail lights.

There are holes to attach a license plate mount under the lightbar, at least on 2011 and above.
Harley sells  a high priced chrome mount that kind of has a frame around it (which might even be curved), or a 10 dollar plastic mounting piece (which you can't see anyway, when the license plate is on.)
Either of those will attach there.

Go to the dealer and check out a new street glide.  It will probably have the less expensive plastic mount.
