I imagine we all know it should take about 5 - 10 minutes to R&R an air cleaner filter element. But I guess on a brand new H-D FLHXSE3 there has to be some factory added difficulty

I don't know what they're using for thread locking compound on the air cleaner element screws and badge screws, but it must be equivalent to Loctite Red.

Cooling down now....
So I wanted to replace the paper element from the factory with the SE/K&N high flow element, should be quick and easy... I guess I should of got the hint when the bung that the air cleaner badge screw threads into popped off of the back of the air cleaner cover, and quit right there. But, being a DIY until I get in trouble type of guy, I decided to dig further and finish the task. I removed the air cleaner cover, and began to remove the air filter element,... boy, these things are tight, this is a lot more than 55 inch pounds, jeez, the torx head is stripping out of this screw...

aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhh
OK, i get the filter elemt off, and it still has the air filter support posts attached to the fasteners, and there ain't no gettin them off without stripping the torx cap screws.. I'm done

So I button everything back together, cause Thunder Mountain HD is coming tomorrow to pick up the bike and install a SE Race Tuner and Dyno. I put the SE/K&N filter in the right saddlebag and I'm gonna call Micah, the service Manager tomorrow morning and have them install the damn thing, they'll know exactly what I'm talking about once they try to unbutton that air cleaner
