Place called Diamond Heads did the cutting work.  Been long enough ago don't remember what they charged.  They used to have prices on their website ( http://www.diamond-heads.com ) but no longer do.  Apparently pre-known current prices would scare people off?

The work on mine was fine.  The company was a chore to deal with though.  Very slow.  Not too responsive to informational requests.  They also have a reputation for jealously/zealously guarding the cutting process.  They somehow managed to convince the Patent Office to grant a patent for the working of a machine tool to do this work.  Now if another shop tries to advertise the process this one apparently gets cranky.

My experience with the work and the process is such that I love the look.  But I'd not do it again with that shop.  I'd find someone doing it quietly on their or get a few junk cylinders off of eBay and learn the technique on my own.

The person I used has been taken to court a number of times by Die Heads, to the point they lost a lot of their personal property. I will not use D H as their patent (heat reduction) is BS plus they are a PIA to deal with.  They will be reading this post as they have an employee that surfs the web for just such post.  FWIW.  If you find a indy doing this work, it will cost about 1/2 what D H charges. Make sure to check their work 1st.

I had my 07 SERK and 12 SESG done by Diamond Heads.  Took about three weeks on each, and have had no problems at all with their customer service.

It's a process task getting it all done.  You'll first need the cores.  They'll go to powder coating.  The colored parts will get diamond cut.  Then the cosmetically complete parts will get their final machine work.  So expect to be down for awhile if you don't have a spare set of cores to begin with.

Yep, that patent is worth an additional $249. I got my done for less but it doesn't have the secret heat reduction cuts like Don's.  :D

Of course this is no longer an issues as I'm leaving my future bikes stock!

I can't believe that someone on this site is leaving their bike STOCK.   :sick2:  Maybe that was just a misprint  :deal:
