Ummmm.. wellll... I don't like "kool-aid"

I was at Joe's shop yesterday when Slacker was tying his bike in the trailer for the trip back home to VT. Didn't ride it so I can't speak first hand to it's performance but I can say when slacker rode the bike (before I arrived), it was "holy sh*t this can't be fore real".  My bike is at Joe's getting tuned right now. A guy at the shop with a 2010 Ultra that was upgraded to a 107", 58mm TB, true duals and tuned by Joe. This guy was in the shop while I was talking with Joe and he simply said you're not going to believe the #s/performance till you ride it...and then he threw me his gloves and said take mine for a ride and find out for yourself.

His 107 is a lesser build than mine and dyno's 120+/120+ with Joe's tuning. I was skeptical till I rode it. Shocking! Dramatically more powerful than my bike which is a more powerful build (on paper). His bike was the same way till Joe tuned it.

I hope to be drinking "Koolaid" next weekend when Joe expects to be done tuning my bike.

I really hope you folks will educate youself before chasing numbers & learn to read a dyno sheet...There's not enough info on those sheets to determine anything but a "test".

See this thread is still on the dyno reports and that we're accepting their steadfast accuracy.  I took the Road King project for tuning just this very morning so thought I'd share the results.  It's on the dyno sheet so it must be correct.  I was really pleased with the output too.  Though I must admit to be slightly surprised.  It's just a tiny bit more than I expected that little 88" motor to do with high torque and HP readings both being just a bit over 800.  Though these max reading came in at a higher RPM than I'll ever ride that bike.  Probably need new cams to move that curve to the left a bit :nixweiss: ?

HP curve is little erratic too.  Thinking maybe the air filter is plugged up....

Why is it, that you are attempting to make a mockery, of slackers build?
What negative agenda, are you heading towards?

That is just frikin hilarious, the funniest thing I have seen on these boards in years.
What's not funny is a shop that continues to market their product by the use of dyno sheets that are known to be inaccurate and have been hashed over many times before and pretty much ruined some  other boards dyno sections.
It was stated here that the dyno tuner has taken his stack for recal, so for those that don't understand what a stack is it is simply a collection of different control boxes stacked together. One communicates the basis dyno info, Date/time drum speed, brake control etc. another is an rpm stack and simply reads the bikes rpm. Another, and the one that the most work generally needs to be upgraded at recal  is the weather module. This is the one that reads temp, humidity and barometric pressure and relays that to the main PC. Yet another reads afr and relays that to the software. There are also extra stacks that can be added (stacked) on top of the existing ones that include a module for analog input if you are using an alternative afr sampling device (or any other analog input) and can be set up to read in the guages of the dynojet WINPEP 7 software.  Yet even one more stack for reading a strain gauge that keeps the eddy current brake from spinning on the shaft and is calibrated with a set of certified weights and will read ACTUAL torque and not calculated torque like the WOT inertia runs you see posted everywhere. Most stacks are sent in when communication errors occur, rpm module wont read or the weather stack used for corrections is way off of what your actual condiitons are. Or, when someone forgets to unplug everything when a lightening storm is coming and fries everything from a strike :-[
So in conclusion the most common way the stack can be reading grossly inaccurate is if the weather station has problems.
Now, where the real inaccuracies come from, first off, the software, Dynojet has been clear in the past that there are some light drums out there that will cause higher readings. I have a pretty good idea where one of those is for sure. When I purchased my dyno I also called dynojet with the serial numbers so they could send me the software that is SPECIFIC to my dyno's drum weight not so MY dyno is more accurate but so it is in line with dyno's throughout the world so at least a somewhat reasonable comparison could be made. The stack recal is only a very small part of the total equation and only affects the corrected numbers.
Slacker, I don't know you and I am sure you are happy with your bike but if you don't believe what I have written above then take that bike over to another dyno, maybe a dealer with a 250i and see where you are at there, everyone claims they will do it but no one does it. Here's a link to another very similar build to yours done a few states away.  http://harleytechtalk.org/htt/index.php/topic,48190.0.html   Just a bit more realistic.
We are expected to believe these sheets are not posted as a simple advertisement yet lets look at these sheets, first off, no smoothing, don't even see a readout of it that is on the top of every sheet. The jaggedness of the line itself will add to the final numbers so why would we believe the operator would stop there?  DOES THIS DYNO EVEN HAVE AN EDDY CURRENT BRAKE?  Can anyone answer that?
One more thing, the run file numbers, they mean very little, I can reset my brake without increasing the run file number an unlimited number of times if I want to. Don't equate the number of runs with tune quality, simply very little connection there.
Now from what I have seen in the past I am sure I will be blasted with the builders and their constant "Damage Control" that they do on these forums.
Flame away boys!!!
P.S. Twolane, it looks like you are sumping a bit.

Joe's dyno has the specific, heavy drum.
It has a brake, BVFLOG.
