Has anybody changed the handlebars on their CVO Ultra or even SG?

I am of the vertically challenged type, and reach forward uncomfortably and hunch between my shoulder blades

I put up with it for 30k on my 2009 CVO, and now with the 2012 having the newly cut seat the hunch is even MORE pronounced

I am undecided as to whether to do the touring pull backs from HD, or go with their mini apes

The pull backs get me 2" back like I need. I believe they are essentially whats stock on the Roadies.

The mini apes would go UP and back, but i dont want that west coast look that will be out of style in no time.

Anybody done anything similiar? Have pics?

I put a set of WO575's on my SESG...very happy with them. Pullback is about 2" more than stock.

did you have to do the cables as well?

not trying to cheap out, but they are telling me the hydraulic clutch cable may have to be custom ordered to the tune of almost $300 if the stock one wont reach

I have heard some people doing the bars and not needing anything...I did need to replace the hydraulic clutch line with a longer one...mine was very tight on full left turn...I went +3" to be safe. I don't remember the exact price, but I think some where around $100.

HD Touring Pullbacks are 2" up and 2" back and contrary to the HD web site or the catalog, they are chrome not polished stainless.  Also contary is that you need to extend any cables or wires.

My wife has them on her 09 Street Glide and I have them on my 10 SESG.  Several other members here that have SESGs also have them.

While I have mine up in the up right position, my wife has hers pulled back even more (so they're probably like 3" back and 1" up) to where she can still use fairing mounted mirrors.  See the red bike and blue bike in these pics taken today.....   http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=70516.0

I had a 2009 CVO Ultra and installed 2" Pullbacks, used all the same controls and hoses.
Just picked up a 2012 CVO Ultra and also had the 2" Pullbacks installed. Used all the same controls and hoses, no need to change anything other than the bars.

I hear some people need to replace lines and many don't....strange...maybe when they assembled my bike they picked up the wrong line :nixweiss:

Seriously? Even the hydraulic line?

Bars are Installed!

Stock

Bars off before swapping internals to new bars

Look at THIS MESS

New bars on

All stock lines and cables used!

Total cost was $149.99 for the bars, minus the 15% off I got the total bill cause I bought my exhaust and Boom Audio lower Fairing Speakers at the same time!

Very very happy they feel great, got rid of the hunch in between my shoulder blades

i have a set of thees bars and have not installed them. i got them because of the "hunch".... but they are twisted in more at the ends and my wrists hurt like (*& if i cant hold them dead straight... so now that you have them on - are your wrists turned more? or do they turn down enough to compensate?

what i asked for was 2" straight back - but they are sort of ... swept back at the ends....

I Have the same problem

Long rides and my hands would actually go numb

thats scary when reachin for the brake in a hurry

I set the bars where my wrists are essentially dead level with where my hands/forearms are comfy for me

Get them installed you'll love them

*****get a spray can of silicon lube and spray LIBERALLY all over the wire sheaths before you pull them thru, makes the job SO SO SO much easier
